Hardly 'shitt', maybe not a perfect batting average but as all-rounders go I think most would take those figures, even Australia. Half his innings have been opening (892 runs @ 37.17) and the other half batting six or below (824 runs @ 35.83)

His bowling hasn't really been used that much, I guess with the presence of Kaneria and Mushtaqs Saqlain and even Ahmed it was never likely to be, but here is an interesting split.

Tests 12-15 (01/02-04/05) : 4 Tests, 1 wkt @ 192.00 (SR 318.00)

Both Mushtaq Ahmed and Saqlain Mushtaq bowled up to 03/04, Danish Kaneria from 00/01 to 10/11, hence why Afridi hasn't the volume of wickets you might expect from an all-rounder.

you can vomit up all the stats you want but seeing his cricket for the last few years its easy to see he does not have the brain to play Test cricket.

Scoring a quick 30-40 in attacking field and one big inning in whole year doesn't count as proper Test player batsman. He never was.

He's scored enough 50s and 100s to say it's not a fluke. Matt Prior and MS Dhoni actually have fewer Test hundreds from more matches. He plays a dangerous game, but there are a few less dangerous players who would be considered quite good.

He also has played most of his matches in Pakistan, which undoubtedly produce the flattest pitches on the planet. If you thought India was bad, Pakistan is about 4x worse. That probably explains why he has so many tons.

Ijaz Butt is responsible for Pakistan's downfall in cricket. I won't be surprised if it is later found that he gets his cut from all this fixing. I am appalled how Kamran Akmal seems to be evading justice. He IMHO is the ring leader of fixers in our team. I still can't get that run out of Watson off my mind.

If England accused Pakistan of cheating then you'd never hear the end of the uproar, outrage etc I sincerely trust the ECB will follow through their threat

BBC Sport - Cricket - Pakistan chief Ijaz Butt retracts 'fixing' comments

Pakistan cricket chief Ijaz Butt has withdrawn his claim that England players were suspected of fixing a one-day match between the two countries.

"I wish personally and on behalf of the Pakistan Cricket Board to withdraw the comments," said Butt.

"I never intended to question the behaviour and integrity of the England players nor the ECB."

The England and Wales Cricket Board, which had threatened Butt with legal action, says the matter is now closed.
