Spot Fixing Scandal Thread: The Legend Continues

I think what he meant to say is that facts going against the investigation (IE, predictions that didn't come true or facts that turned out to be wrong) were not aired in the video.

How would he know of other predictions that didn't turn out to be true if they weren't on the video?

Well Amir and Butt have today flown to Dubai for hearing by ICC. Salman Butt has hired a top lawyer in Pakistan. He talked to media before departure and he and his lawyer looked too confident. Aamir also talked to media and said he is itching to play for Pakistan again :noway

I got a feeling they'll get off.

If they do there'll be uproar. I wouldn't watch another game in which they play as its quite obvious that they've done something horrendously wrong.

I'd hope they'd be refused UK Visa's for the next tournament/series, if they do get off.

I reckon they will be off too, until the case is fully investigated, but it would be intriguing to see whether they come straight into the team or not.

Well considering by the way we are playing South Africa, they are gonna be back.

I already boycott Pakistan matches, if they get let off I might stop watching cricket.

Honestly this entire episode has turned me off cricket. I don't feel like I am watching sport anymore. At least with baseball and American football I know there are no people cheating the system for personal gain.

It will be a damning indictment on the incompetence and inability of the ICC if these 3 ever play again. We all know the PCB is corrupt and useless, lets hope the ICC does not follow suit.

See to me there is a difference.

I would compare the use of roids to ball tampering, not to match fixing.

and to play further devils advocate, I mostly watch College football :p

Spot fixing and match fixing are two very different things. Not defending their obvious actions, but there is no evidence of match fixing.

but do you agree that fixing of any kind and using steroids or ball tampering are different things?

They're different things for sure, but I don't see how steroid use is not cheating.

Cheating to win the game and cheating for personal financial gain at the expense of everyone else are very different things.

In fact I think its insulting to those who take performance enhancing drugs to be compared to the Pakistani cricketers who took money to under-perform.
