Surrey vs Derbyshire. End of Day 1

The Surrey boys came out to bowl in the last session. Derbyshire started off steadily but then Di Venuto got out with the score at 23 so the muched hyped tassy opening partnership didn't succeed.

In one over in the last session of play when Bicknell was bowling to Di Venuto he dropped it a bit shorter and Di Venuto missed the ball and got clean bowled for 13 off 43.

Adnan came out to support Birt but he didn't last long and gave Surrey some hope before the two umpires called stumps.

In one of the overs Mahmood was bowled one in which Adnan swung at and didn't have enough control in the top hand and the bat twisted to much which resulted in an edge which century maker Newman caught. Adnan went for 6 off 15 which left Derbyshires total at 2-40.

What followed was dissapointing for us with Birt and taylor putting on an unbeaten 61 to end the day.

Taylor came out and was defence just like Birt as there minds were focused on playing out the day. The bowlers tried and failed to get them out despite some tight bowling. Kumble came on to bowl 2 of the last 3 overs in the day but didn't manage to pick up that wicket i was looking for.


Derbyshrie ended the day at 2-101

Derbyshire look to be in a strong position after a rather average batting performance put up by Surrey. Let's hope their bowlers can get a few wickets back-to-back early on Day 2.

Game corruption
Surrey vs Derbyshire. Back to the previous update.

I went to load up my game today to update and there was a game corruption and the only way to get it back was for it to find the last un-corrupted point. This happened to be were i last saved which was at my previous update.

We got Derbyshire at 8/210 at the innings break;

Then they had some resistance with a 48 run partnership for the 9th wicket and got all out for 63

But none of that matters now so i will just play from 2/101 (the last un corrupted point) and hope i can get them to collapse again.
