We have made the following changes to the swearing rule and how it is moderated:
F word replace by flip
S word to be replaced with crap
Use of swearing abbreviation such as wtf will be allowed.
The F word will be replaced by flip. This is to discourage swearing but it will not see your post deleted or infracted. The replacement word will be left in your post, if you are unhappy with it being in there choose another word rather than using the F word.
The S word was to be replaced with crap but as some of you may have noticed it was replacing words like mishit to micrap. So for now the S word will be treated as before with ****. It is recommended you use crap instead of the S word to avoid confusion with **** being taken for an abusing word which is explained in the next paragraph.
With the removal of the F word and soon the S word from the original swear filter, post that contain **** are most likely abusing someone. If it deemed to be aimed at abusing someone an infraction for "Insulted Other Member(s)" will be given.
Since the use of swearing abbreviation are more common in general chat we will allow them again.
Lastly those who avoid the swearing filter will be punished with the "Avoiding the Swear Filter" infraction.
