Anyways, Matt, do you have any idea how close to the final version you were playing? Did they mention whether or not this was the final build and squads?

It was the final production build, it's too late in the dev cycle to make any changes to the release code. But a patch is in the realm of possibility.

There's apparently about a 3 month time before the game's release where they need to have the final teams in, so that there's going to be some guesswork in trying to make the squad. The ECB/CA do the teams list, but didn't do the stats for them.

Hey Matt , regarding the IPL teams or like you said Fake ipl teams i assume it's made up with names so for example there will be no Gilchrist in there? and just has fake players and not the real ipl squad players.

The ECB and ACB picked the sides so Codemasters had no say in who they could add to the game from them. The fake IPL teams contain all the players in the game minus Australia and England players, so guys like McCullum, Gayle will be in the KKR equivalent fake IPL side.

Oh so the teams are same, but the team names will be different? so i assume Gilly will be in Ipl teams too?

Gilchrist won't be in there since he isn't in the Australian side plus the Australian players aren't in the fake IPL teams. Only players from the International sides minus England and Australia are in the fake IPL sides. So the retired players playing the IPL won't be in the game thus can't be in the fake IPL team.

Oh thats just crap that the Eng and Aus players won't be in the fake IPL, I was looking forward to playing this mode, hope these little things like rubbish edit facilities and not being able to edit Eng and Aus are not going to spoil a good game.

I would have rathered Eng and Aus to not be licensed to be honest, so that we could edit the squads ourselves.

I bet there will be restrictions on the abilities we can give created players again too, like in AC09.

Codies need to give us as much freedom with editing as possible, like in Pes, its not that much to ask.:

It might not be up to them, as for lack of editing ruining a game, I doubt that. The gameplay is the core, everything else is just gravy.

I know gameplay is the key and I'm really excited about that, but it just feels like the icing might be left off the cake, if you get me.

I do get your point, but they need to fix and build a solid gameplay foundation in the 1st few releases. If IC10 has addressed the fundamental issues wrong with AC09, then Id say we can expect the "icing" for the next edition.
