Ok this is the thread if you are an animal lover

I will start with my favourite animal

Tiger

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is a member of the Felidae family; the largest and the most powerful of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera. Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. Reaching up to 4 metres (13 ft) in total length and weighing up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds), the larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids. Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognizable feature is the pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underparts. The largest subspecies of tiger is the Siberian tiger.

This animal is the national animal of India. It is a lone hunter. There are about less than 5000 tigers surving in the wild. There are 10 subspecies of the tiger out of which 5 are extinct.
Currently this animal is nearing extinction.Only 2 years back the Sariska Park (in Rajasthan,India) had all it's tigers killed. It was only 7 months back that 2 tigers were translocated to the park.

I can see some potential in a thread like this, however, I think you should put your feedback on your favourite animal, rather than copy and paste from a wiki article!

I did post feedback on it.The second para is my own genuinity.

Giraffe is my favourite animal.

When I was about 6 I was putting up a fence with my Dad at dawn and we heard a rustle behind us and these 3 Giraffes wondered out of the scrub. It was the first time I saw them in real life and I was so amazed and how big they were and how graceful they were. Love 'em!

That is quite special, best we can compete, is the rustling being caused by squirrels or cats.

My favorite animal has to be the Gorilla/Monkey type creatures. Any type really they're fascinating animals, not least because they're the closest relatives to our species.

Monkeys do things which you just wouldn't expect from an animal, one being grooming each other to keep themselves from having any unwanted bug sucking on their blood!

Dolphins also amaze me, they're extremely friendly and they just seem to always wanna play. I've been lucky enough to swim with two at a water-park/water-zoo in America when I was 9? Could have been 8, but around that age. They're amazing and make great noises!

Animals in general fascinate me, everyone, or almost everyone loves dogs. Things they do, especially when you know the dog and predict what its going to do is brilliant. I know my old dog used to wake up, go to the backdoor to see how the weather was, trot out in the sun and do its business, or if rain it'd wait. Then it'd come through into the front room, scratch herself down behind the chair, then come round in-front of her favorite spot, the fireplace rug!

Yeh, possibly i'm a simplistic person enjoying that about animals, but i really do. Snakes scare me though! And spiders. And cats. And children....but thats for another thread.
