Toss : Bat First

Hello Everybody and welcome to Harare, Zimbabwe for the 4th ODI between Royal Ramblers and Counter Warriors. The sun is out but the weather is cool. The perfect conditions for cricket. The pitch is dusty and will assist the spinners. The seamers have got something for themselves aswell. If they hit the right spots the ball will keep low and cause trouble for the batsmen. The cracks will open up as the game progresses. The best thing to do after winning the toss is to bat first and get runs on the board. Batting 2nd won't be easy at all...

The Counter Warriors captain won the toss and had no hesitation in electing to bat first.

The Counter Warriors opened with Ashwin and Tarzan. The ball wasn't doing much but the openers didn't take any chances. They very happy leaving the balls outside off stump and hitting away the bad deliveries. Together they added 67 runs watchfully but a disasterous call ended up Tarzan losing his wicket. Tarzan was dismissed for 36 runs. Ashwin and World Champions seemed to be getting in some rhythm until a bowling change in the form of Vaibhav earned the Royal Ramblers a wicket. Ashwin was dismissed for 37 runs and Counter Warriors were 85/2. The Counter Warriors were in need of a partnership to steady their innings. World Champions and Paulnixon1 provided that. they were looking good and added 50 runs for the 3rd wicket. Royal Ramblers needed a wicket and Xuzuon provided the breakthrough. He dismissed World Champions for 46 runs. The match was heading into the slog overs and Counter Warriors had 7 wickets in hand. Wildwil took the attack to Royal Ramblers bowlers whereas at other end Paulnixon1 played cautiously and kept his wicket intact. Wildwil was looking dangerous but the Scion Sid came into the attack and dismissed him. Highlander999 came in next and started off where Wildwil left. Paulnixon1 who was being watchful so far missed a ferocious yorker from Shalin Hitter and was caught plumb. With some blistering shots from the bat of Highlander999, Counter Warriors managed to reach 230/6 at the end of 50 overs. The target may look small but on a pitch like this, the score can be defended. Lets see if the Royal Ramblers can chase it down...

The Royal Ramblers have experimented with their opening and sent in ansariaamir_leo and ursonly11. Both the openers started off cautiously. The cracks have opened up and odd bounces were into play. Counter Warriors got their first breakthrough in the form of ansariaamir_leo who was judged lbw. Royal Ramblers were 31/1. Royal Ramblers needed a good partnership now if they had any hope of chasing down the target. Karachi Xpress and Ursonly11 didn't disappoint. They played some glorious drives and sent the ball sailing over the fence. Their extreme understanding was seen in their calling and running between the wickets. They played brilliant and both of them managed to score half centuries. Together they added a massive 151 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket and brought Royal Ramblers right back into the game. They were going strong until Nailclaw got the wicket of ursonly11. Viral was the next batsman to come in. The partnership seemed to be going on when Counter Warriors struck again and struck big. They managed to dismiss Karachi Xpress who was looking dangerous on 80 runs. With the dismissal of Karachi Xpress, it seemed like the start of a collapse. The ball was turning and keeping low and the Royal Ramblers batsmen were finding it very hard to time the ball. It was all upto the last over where Royal Ramblers required 7 runs to win. Shalin Hitter and Xuzuno at the crease and iloveireland has the ball in hand.

iloveireland kept it really tight. He put the ball in block hole and the Royal Ramblers couldn't get him away. He gave away only 4 runs off 6 balls and won the game for his team. Counter Warriors win by 2 runs.
