Vipers won the toss and elected to bat on this flat track. The openers were looking very confident and started off brilliantly. The openning pair of Ashwin and Gazelle scored 81 runs from first 14 overs before Gazelle was caught by Covvy of his own bowling. With some contributions they managed 128 runs from 120 balls.

B08.jpg

Ashwin was the top scorer for Vipers with 60 runs and Gazelle made 44 runs.

B09.jpg

He struck 5 fours and 4 sixes from 58 balls.

B10.jpg

Khalek and Covvy bowled good line and length with bowling figures of 3-0-14-1 and 3-0-16-1 respectively.

Wovlerines came out to bat with Aamir and Ursonly... The openning partnership was broken by Funknath when the score was 50 from 11 overs.. Shubhrayu came out to bat. He was looking quiet nervous with his recent form. He started off with boundaries and soon looked like getting the old touch.

A brilliant partnership between Ursonly and Shubh of 61 runs came to an end when Ursonly was run out for 50. They made sure that the run rate required is always in reach. With 14 runs required from 6 balls. Shubhrayu was on strike with Zohaib on the other end.

B20.jpg

For vipers they decided to go with World champion for the last over who conceeded 16 runs from his 3 overs.

B21.jpg

It was a wonderful performance from the Wolverines. Shubh was run out for a well made 47 but he made sure that the wolervines require just one run of the last ball. Covvy came out to bat and he got the last run.

B22.jpg

B23.jpg

Ursonly was the top scorer with 50 runs and Shubh made 47 runs.
B24.jpg

Shubhrayu strucked 10 fours from 33 balls.

B25.jpg

For vipers the best bowler was Westindian who had the figures of 4-0-12-0.

LIONS v/s VIPERS
-------------------

Good evening and welcome everybody to this lifeless, boring ODI game between the Vipers and the Lions. We are here in Auckland, and Lord Jesus, it's extremely cold!! The good thing is that the pitch is excellent and a batsman's paradise- so you can expect to see some pretty decent scores out here. Win the toss- bat first. ( Look at me imitating the commentators of BLIC 2005 :p)

The Vipers decided to bat after winning the toss. Not a surprise, it's a batting wicket and their main aim should be to put runs on the board, and put the opposition under pressure. And just to tell you guys, the whole Wolvy team is present in the field today- wearing skirts, frocks, and everything- why? We all know that they are a bunch of girlies and guess what?!! they are the cheerleaders of today's match. :happy Tom is their leader! Just look at poor fat Tommy! :( What a hard time he's getting!! A woman who is too fat to even walk- is DANCING- LOL!!! :laugh:laugh

The Vipers were not supermans, but they played slowly and steadily. Their start was a bit slow, but they recovered in the middle overs and at last posted a competitive total of 254. A challenging score no doubt, still in this type of a wicket, it might just not be enough- remember, the Lions have some really great batters.....

D09.jpg

Ashwin as usual was wonderful. So were Gazelle and John Atyal. The lower order guys were also quite successful and smacked a few boundaries in the slog overs. Bladescape again played like Yusuf Pathan, and all his 16 runs came in boundaries. In one word, everybody contributed. Still, the total could well have crossed 270 had their openers not played slowly in the opening overs. Oh well! It's cricket!!

D10.jpg

D11.jpg

All our bowlers were terrific. They tried their best to check the runs, and they turned out to be pretty successful. Looks like I was the most economical!:cool: Actually, all of us were superb, and in short, it was a job well done!! ;) But....you know why the wickets fell? It was not beacuse of our bowlers! It was because of Tom!!!:eek: What happened- their batters were so busy laughing and giggling at the dancing (!!!) Tom, that they couldn't concentrate on their batting and so.... hush! It's a secret! Still, poor Tom! :( She should have told the authorities before this match that she is way too fat to dance as well!! :noway I pity him. :( It was like some elephant jumping! :p:p

D12.jpg

D13.jpg

So, the target is 255. The Lion openers are now out in the field. Let's see what they do..

D14.jpg

D15.jpg

What the hell are they doing?? 94 in 30 overs!! How!! When!! Where! What are they doing, let me take a look......O ████! Don't tell me they too are looking at Tom! Who hired Tom to dance here anyway? :mad

D16.jpg

Looks like they have listened to me. But it's too late! Now we need some miracle to win this.

D17.jpg

D18.jpg

*sigh* We are heading towards another defeat in the ODI's, bad lucks never end! And............they have again started looking and laughing at Tom! *sigh* *Sigh*

D19.jpg

D20.jpg

D21.jpg

UV! King of Sixes!! King of T-20! King of hattricks!! Save us, man! 36 in 6 balls!! :upray :upray

D22.jpg

Bad UV! We lost!

D23.jpg

Our batsmen tried, but we played too slow. All of us played well, but not well enough to clinch this match.

D24.jpg

Like Bladescape, I too hit 9 fours, and all my runs came in boundaries. Same with Viral. Others were also brilliant. But the thing is, all our boundaries came only when Tom went out to have some coffee. But before and after it.........*sigh* :( Call this girl power! She paralyzed CCPC's no 1 batting line up single handedly! What a lady!!! :crying

D25.jpg

All the bowlers were awesome, specially Sanjog Maiti (yes, he was bowling when Tom was in the field) Others were great as well. Specially, West Indian, and Funky. Bladescape too could pick up a crucial wicket.

D26.jpg

D27.jpg

D28.jpg

So, the match ends here. The Vipys have won it. LL's losing streak continues! Maybe, luck will favour us next time! We'll see, till then -Ta ta!! ;)

MoM: TOM BAKER:eek::banana2
