Chapter 6: Let's get the season underway
With the drafts done, it's time for the trade and Day 1 of the Free Agent trade started and Hobart wasn't going to trade with other teams. Instead trying to improve on the squad, especially with the wicketkeeper.

Tom Triffitt was the surprise local trade as he was replace by Ryan Carters would hope to impress his team. It was mostly about the trade from the Sunshine Coast Kings as he got replaced by Adam Gilchrist to improve on their squad.

After being traded from Queensland. He will now hope to impress for the Heroes.

The other trade for the Heroes on Day 1 was a big one with Simmons leaving to be replace by Laxman in a bold move for Heroes. Matt121 said:

Surprised that Laxman hadn?t be picked in the draft. So will be happy to have him in the squad

This won?t be the last from the Heroes for FA trades.

Chapter 7: Hague vs. Copenhagen
As I went to Hague to hopefully see my team take home their first win of the campaign. I was hoping that they would get off to a good start with the bowl after knowing that they would be batting first. As I was watching with my binoculars, I bumped into Ahmad Shah and said hello. He just said good luck and hope it?s a tight match. I just said ?as if?.

Anyway it wasn?t until the 24th over before a wicket fell and that wasn?t the player who I hoped would go would be Stephan Myburgh but it wasn?t and would pay as he got to a century after an single from Malik which I wasn?t happy. Their innings was finished as we needed to get 308 to win.

Hoping that Tom Cooper will be bat good for Copenhagen

After the break, I came back from my lunch just in time for Chris Nash to bat as my team were down 2 for 45 with the required run rate being 6.12 but our run rate was higher with 6.43. I was hoping to see if we could get some runs. Then our top player, Tom Cooper fell for 12 which wasn?t good because I felt like I wanted to trade him out for a international. But I know I couldn?t do that now.

Then it started to fell like dominos as wicket after wicket fell and knowing what was happening I left the stadium to catch my plane and head back to the plane and wasn?t stoping. When I checked the scores later that day, I would of love to kick out a window but I knew that I would be fined in Hague, so I kept down low.

Chapter 8: Training for the matches
After the trip in a losing team, I thought I had to train my Europe team about bat and bowl as both were our weakness in Round 1. I told the team that none of your spots are save even if you play really well in the match.

Talking to them was a nightmare as it looked like that they partied all night and they don?t know who they are. As it started I saw why we lost the match as both batting and bowling were not up to my standards. The only one that did impress was Michael Pedersen but even him wasn?t up to scratch.

This was tougher than I thought, knowing that they would struggle in the coming matches. I was relieved that we did had a bye for this round.

Chapter 9: Time does go fast
Well after 2 rounds in the APL, the Heroes have took 2 from 2 as they are tied with the Gold Coast, Sydney and Cairns. The captian has lead the Heroes as he's so far scored 122 runs in a matter of 2 games while the other players have struggled.

The bowlers have stayed on a good side, with the only main bowler being Brendan Drew. The other main bowlers have taken wickets with Steven Finn taking 4 wickets in his 2 games.

The MVP standings after two games.

5 - Peter Forrest (5+0)
5 - Brendon McCullum (0+5)
4 - Xavier Doherty (4+0)
4 - Steven Finn (0+4)
3 - Nick Kruger (3+0)
3 - Mitchell Marsh (0+3)
2 - Chris Simpson (2+0)
2 - Matthew Hoggard (0+2)
1 - Luke Pomersbach (1+0)
1 - Brendon Drew (0+1)

Forrest has been consistent throughout. You have to get the best from him.

Chapter 10: Resign from Europe to focus on Tassie
As I gave the coaching role to another manager, I went to Cairns for my teams first away match against Cairns. We losted the toss which I thought wouldn't be to bad knowing that we would be batting first. It didn't get off to a good start with Pomersbach fell for a duck and I thought we couldn't possibley lose this match. That was until the batsman started to heat the pressure as the 4s and 6s started to appear with Brendon McCullum looking to attack with three 6s. But went the batsman did start, the bowlers would strike back. Late batting from Brendan Drew put the Heroes into a good target of 272.

Brendon McCullum continued with his early form

The Fury showed what they could do to the team as Mahela Jayawardene was gone for only 22. But than the next 3 batsman showed control innings with 50s to push the Fury into a winning position while the Heroes bowlers struggled miserably with even Lonwabo Tsotsobe bowling like he was bribed to bowl shocking. He knew after the 4 overs that I wouldn't put him in for Round 4 as the Fury took home their 3rd win while the Heroes misjumped a good chance with this match.

Brendan Drew was the postive in a dismal bowling display

European team is challenging. It's bad for them as they lost you. Now you can focus on a team and put your complete efforts on it.

Chapter 11: Heroes vs. Knights
One change from our lineup that won over Fury with Tsotsobe getting the moved out while Marcus Trescothick played in his first match for Season 13. He showed what he could do as he led from the front with Brendon McCullum also taking charge while the other batsman struggled. The bowlers, did some good batting lower down to finish the innings on 247.

Marcus Trescothick came and showed with pure dominace

Newcastle lost the early wicket of Rogers and the danger man of Watson cheaply. Joe Burns and AB de Villiers showed fight in the innings with a good partnership of 86 before a brilliant catch from VVX Laxman put the Knights in a struggling position. Liam Davis and Nathan Hauritz did show some pressure in the Heroes bowling, but it was a little bit late as the Heroes took another victory by 4 wickets with Steven Finn taking 2 wickets

Chapter 12A: Freedom for the holidays or is it
As all the international players went home to meet with their families, the Australians took part in the final training session before the break. That was until I counted how many there was training. "Hey on why isn't Ryan Carters here", I explained as I was in confusion mode with the rest of the team.

No one knew where Carters was as we started to invite the 2,000 members that signed up and come to the open day for the Heroes to the ground. With all of the members that came in the ground, we started the training with some catching practice to the crowd as a six could be coming in their direction and they would know where they were coming from.

Thank god it wasn't this big of a crowd

After catching we continue to do what we normally do as we even involve some of the 2,000 crowd to bowl to the players and it was a success with a couple of future talent bowlers bowling the player out, even I had a go and got smashed. Well that?s life. After the training, the players signed some of the memorabilia, the members had, which was good to help
