Just thought I'd make a little thread, firstly to dedicate my love to Andy Bernard from The American Office, and also to mention that A Night at The Office is on on Sunday evening. It's basically a re-showing of 6 Office episodes with fans of the show and Gerv and Smerch chatting about it. Going to be awesome, any excuse to watch David Brent in action is worth my time.

Also a massive fan of The Office: An American Workplace. I bought seasons 1-3 a month or so ago, and it's beyond epic. Completely different feel to the UK show, and easily as funny. So many brilliant characters, Dwight Schrute, Michael Scott, Jim Halpert and my personal favourite, Andy 'The Nard-Bird' Bernard. If you've not seen anything from the Nard-Bird, check out the link in my signature, one of the greatest comedy characters of all-time. He is brilliant. Can't wait for Season 4 to be released on DVD here! Any other fans?

The UK version was brilliant. Gervais is great. What channel is A Night At The Office going to be on? The American version is pretty funny too but I'm totally into it yet. Dwight is awesome.

love both the versions. Brent is great in UK and I love Toby and Kevin from the US version.

I hate the UK version. Honestly can't see why it's so highly acclaimed. But the yank version is class. You won't find me enjoying yank humour over Brit humour too often, this is one of those rare occasions though.

what do you not like about the UK one exactly? I find it a bit mean spirited and unbearbaly awkward at times. However stil think it is an enjoyable show. If I had to choose though, Michael Scott wins hands down.

Another thing I hate about the UK version is the actress who plays Dawn. You could land an airplane on her forehead, it always puts me off.

British > Yank.

Absolute class the British version. So many standout moments, "I think there's been a rape up there":D.

Not seen all that much of the yank version, but from what I have seen, it comes nowhere near matching the UK one.

Never saw the Brit one. Was it supposed to realistic because the Yank one is clearly not a mockumentary.

The British one is far more realistic. Surprised to see people not liking the British version though. Just pure genius I thought, Gervais plays Brent perfectly and it's just so brilliantly written. I don't really think you can compare the 2 series really, as they're so different after the 1st series of the American one.

Phil, give the American one a real watch, it really is funny. Just try not to think of it as a remake of the Office, but as a completely different show. The humour's different but it's still very, very funny.

David Brent > Michael Scott though tbh. I love Michael Scott, think he's a brilliant character, played excellently by Steve Carell, but I personally think David Brent's one of the greatest comedy characters of all-time. Ricky made a great choice to play the character himself, as he really did play it perfectly.

I prefer the British one by quite a bit but the American version is very funny aswell.
