Whoa! I have not watched him playing but I loved his commentary. One of the first commentators I've heard to along with Richie Benaud. He will be sorely missed by the cricketing world.

I'm pretty shocked by the news TBH. I never had the chance to watch him play but he had a fantastic career and led a revolution that would change the game forever with his work with Packer and World Series cricket. He was an iconic voice in the commentary box and I will never forget his enthusiasm and insight in the game. RIP.

Really sad news. Will be a loss to the Channel 9 commentary team. Thoughts go out to family and friends.

Very shocked to hear this. Didn't get the opportunity to see him play but he was one of first names who came to my mind when there was a discussion of cricket's best commentators. Always loved his intelligent thoughts and knowledge about the cricket. One of my favourite commentators. I will miss his voice during match for long time! RIP.

RIP Tony! :(

His enthusiastic commentary while Sachin was tearing the Aussies apart in that Sharjah special in '98 is stuff of the classics! I still remember that uber bubbly voice with which he used to say "Saaashinnnnnnn Taaaannnndulkkaaaarrrrrrr.....".:D He made commentary so entertaining and fun to listen to.

Along with David Hookes (rip) he was one of my favourite commentators. Sad stuff.

Will always be remembered for his infamous "grovel" statement and top class commentary ofc, R.I.P Tony.
