Tony Greig dies aged 66

Pretty much my most disliked commentator until Mark Nicholas came along, but at least Greigy had been there and done it. I didn't expect to miss him this Summer during his recovery, but wasn't the same without him. Hussey retiring was disappointing news, but this is really sad.

RIP Greigy, good job aggravating Aussies everywhere with your banter :thumbs

So if Tony Greig is cremated, who gets to keep his ashes - Australia or England?

Not funny...though South Africa can claim them by virtue of Greig being born there.

But, I doubt he'd be cremated. Buried most likely.

Not meant to be funny. Was just pondering. I would think SA as we have already beaten England and Australia for it IMO

Respect Tony you will be missed RIP :cheers

Undoubtedly one of the best commentators and one of my favorites too. Whenever I discuss cricket commentary with friends, his name is the first one to strike my mind. Will certainly miss him. RIP.

I'm going to stop visiting cricinfo for a while. Just bad news everywhere. Tony Greig will be missed a lot.

Had great passion for the game did Tony Greig and it always came across in his commentary. I didn't agree with some of his views, but then again a lot of them I liked, he seemed a no nonsense type guy. I'll miss him for sure.

My favourite Tony Greig commentary was this one - the Steve Waugh dropped catch...

or this one shows a couple of Tony's passion of a different kind: 1) pointing out the hot ladies in the ground, and 2) having a go at Bill Lawry:
