Trans Tasman Premier League

No one, ever told me I had to pick in the social group.

Title thread..

Announcement:

Well I had a think over the night and I've decided the TTPL needs a new beginning. From now, no Manager owns any players.

We are going to be having an all new draft, in which all lists go out the window. The single rule I do have is that they must play First Class Cricket. I will accept players from the IPL, and ICL.

This means you will have to do your own scouting and be fully responsible for the team you put on the paddock.

A few tips when drafting:

Finding young Domestic players who have played 5 or 6 matches and average 60 with the bat, won't help you. I only take averages as a guidline and in that case his average would be adjusted accordingly.

Try to pick up 2 Keepers, as injurys and possibly suspension will be introduced this season.

Current Internationals are probably your best bet as the likes of the ICL's has-beens, may not be what they used be in their prime.

All drafting will take place in the social group, and try to stay active (daily) because I won't be having this draft drag out, much longer than 24 hours and you may miss your pick that round.

There will be no order but a new round will not start until everyone has made a pick.

The lists will remain on post 1 as a guideline for those unfamiliar with the Domestic scenes.

The draft starts today (Wed the 11th) at 6am GMT time, using this clock as your reference [ GMT Time ]

You will find the appropriate threads at the social group.

Got Watson.
The best batsman were taken and I was debating whether to get a bowler or a batsman. Eventually decided on getting both. :banana2

I don't know who I shoud get next round. I don't want to risk giving up Hauritz but I want a good pace bowler as well.

Just so you know I am going after Hauritz. :D
Nah JK, I think he will be picked this round, OR by the early picks of round 2

This reminds me of a similar situation in some other league.
Callum wanted to pick Vettori but went for Flintoff instead thinking that he would still be available in the next round but someone (me,to be precise :D) picked him in that round itself.:laugh

The point is...pick the players you like, not the ones who you think are the best for you may not get a second chance :p
I could easily have got Ponting, but decided to go for Jesse Ryder instead as i like that fellow. :D

How would you have easily gotten Ponting, considering he's Australian and all. :facepalm

can i have Shane Warne, he play in the IPL for Rajastan, so he still play's, and he's australian

I went for Michael Clarke as he was good. I had planned to go for Hussey but Covvy chose him the second, it turned 5:00. Anyway, I got Hauritz last year threw trading Ryan Broad and Ishant Sharma for Umar Gul and Nathan Hauritz. Not such a bad trade. Sharma wasn't great, even if Gul wasn't either and Hauritz was very good last season.
