When I had first heard about it I could not believe it. How was this even possible? What was he possesed by? I guess that'll remain a mystery.

From what I remember he was a bit of a one hit wonder. He got a scholarship to improve his cricket, but when he was not progressing at all, his father pulled him out saying that he was taking a spot of another deserved player. Some details might be sketchy but remember reading about it

Not really a shocker. He made those runs against little kids and showed no mercy. It was sort of a big bully batting. No wonder he is not able to repeat anything near of normal perfect performance in any innings in future against real cricketers.
