TV Series General Discussion

Really need to get into Game of Thrones. The amount of people that are watching that series in unbelievable.

^exactly. I just can't sit down and do a marathon of the show. Watching it an episode a day would take a long time.

Viper Vs Mountain was one of the most craziest things I have seen on a TV show. Not that you never would believe that it could result this way, but why kill the currently most charming character? Since the start, Martin kills all those who develop as the lead.
Tyrion was the best character for me. I think Jaime would aid him in escaping.

Other than GOT, I finished Da Vinci's Demons. It goes a bit too much in between, but most of the story is really great.

GOT
That episode didn't have a memorable scene like Nedd's beheading, Robb's murder, the use of wildfire, Oberyn's fight, or Joffrey's poisoning, but it was still my favorite episode of the series. Something was going on at all times even if there wasn't that standout scene. Great action, and out of all the stories, after this last episode, I am most intersted in Jon's storyline.

In reference to above,
No standout scene? Well, for me the giant's arrow shot scene was too good. And the way Yggrite gets killed, it came as a surprise too. But I do agree that this was, as an episode on the whole, the best of the series.

^
Well yea, it was cool, but it wasn't game-changing in any way like those other scenes I mentioned. Ygritte dying was hardly a surprise. Either Ygritte or Jon had to die in this episode. It wouldn't have been realistic any other way.

^
I think he means the way she died, arrow from the kid who's village got wrecked by the free folk, and the way the kid nods at Jon Snow after he puts an arrow in Ygritte, almost to say "I got dis." ;)

Overall, I loved the episode as well, one question I have is does Mance Rayder know that Jon Snow turned on the free folk? If he does I don't see this going too well...

Started reading the GOT books. Halfway through the first book at the moment. Hope to finish all of them by the time the next season starts.

I'm not going anywhere near the books till the show's done, if even, I rather watch the TV show not knowing what's going to happen, I feel like that's part of the experience with GOT, but I guess it won't matter too much because I expect the show to pass the books before George is done, already I've heard book readers tell me that basically everything we've seen of the white walkers this season is not in the books.

Apparently the books are much better, so they're something for you to read after the show IMO, so you get double the fun.

What a season finale, I enjoyed (not literally in some cases... ;)) every minute of it!

The moment Stannis arrived to save the Night's Watch, I literally was standing up cheering. :clap

I actually had this spoiled (but it didn't matter, I was still ecstatic) thanks to some book readers on the comments section of the preview to the finale whining that Stannis didn't have his moment to shine in episode 9 and that the show was changing everything from the books, apparently 2 of the many minor characters that died in that episode are apparently either still alive in the books or didn't die in the battle, can't remember exactly what, and the book readers put two and two together and claimed Stannis was robbed of his moment... this is why I'm staying as far away from the books as I can till the show's done, I don't want any preconceived notion on what should happen on the show and when.

What am I going to do on Sunday nights now...

----------

I should really stop scrolling down to the comments section (force of habbit :rolleyes) of any video on the Game of Thrones YouTube channel, tonight I had something else spoiled on the comment section of the video of George R.R. Martin explaining why Stannis attacks the Wildlings, outrage yet again that a character in the books didn't make an appearance, and well, idiotic me, I Google'd her name, first thing I see are images, blatant images revealing what and who the actress playing the character will be, all I had to do was put two and two together... knowing me though, I'll still shock myself whenever "it" happens, I get so into the movies and TV shows that the spoiler often isn't even on my mind when I'm watching. :)

That was a great final episode

Spoilers below only from the final episode, not the books :P

Love how Arya's character (my fav one) has developed into this stone-hearted girl because she has just seen so much loss and darkness in her life. But there is still a sliver of the innocent little girl in her which was evident when she was chatting with Brienne about how she learnt to fight. That whole segment was excellent.

The action was excellent in this one. Especially Brienne vs Hound. Loved how it turned from an honorable sword fight to kicks-in-crotches and biting-ears skirmish :P

The walking dead season 2.
Family Guy
Russell Howard's good news
Friends (Old episodes most of the time though :/)
Only main things I managed to watch during this month.
