Any strategy for village cricket 20:20?
Fielding tactics, etc.?

For fielding i have some tips.

For the fast bowler put two slips and a third man. point stays the same and then short covers, then a mid off fielder not so far away form the inner circle.

for the leg side place a man at square leg closer to the umpire and just to put some pressure on bring mid wicket fielder short and mid on in line with mid off.

For the spinner long off & long on, a sweeper. than you could put a slip and a third man just wide closer to gully position. then deep point and a man at cover stays on the circle. You can put a fielder at fine leg if batsman trying to sweep you.

For bowlers fast or slow, bowl just out side or online with the of stump and try to mix your bowling with slower balls cutters yorkers bouncers etc. Don't bowl no balls cuz of free hits and don't bowl wides because it makes a lot of difference at the end.

for the batsmen rotate the strike and get your eye in before you play big shots. You have to get your confidence by working in to the gaps if you get a bad ball you think you can hit, hit it hard and don't hold back on your shots. As you gain confidence your body feels like playing shots then do so. Take advantage of the fielding positions. if the fielders are far just take singles and doubles to bring them close, Now that they are close play shots. This is the best way of getting runs and getting confidence.

These are the tips we use in twenty20 tournaments and they really paid off. ;)
Good Luck mate. ;) :p

field positioning will have a lot to do with it though!
For example, is it even worth having slips? Slips are quite an attacking position and for 20:20 I would assume you need defensive fieldings and positions to stop the singles.

Right, Im playing in a Twenty20 game today for the Ashton 6th Form college students, and to be honest, the ground is going to be very wet!

Its been raining all day, and the pitch will be on the wet side, any tactics for Batting and Bowling on this type of deck?

Whatever you do don't bowl short, it'll just sit up and be slogged easily. Keep it nice and full and stick yorkers in. Good luck.
