Twenty20 International Rankings (or the lack of them)

There have been 134 Twenty20 Internationals played and 2 World Twenty2020 Championships. Yet no International rankings!

With all the importance being places on 2020, the lack of International rankings (not that the ODI and Test ones are great) amazes me.

How do you rank the current teams, are there any associates that are better than Test nations? 2020 Rankings have the potential to be very interesting since more International teams play this format and upsets like Holland/England, Zim/Aus are more common than in any other format.

England 1st
Aussies, lower than fail nations :p

the rankings are not there cause Pakistan will be holding the no.1 position (highest win ratio to date against all oppositions)... once Aus or SA takes over then the rankings will be introduced by ICC.

Not everything is a conspiracy theory against Pakistan.

There were rating shown on a Pakistani Sports Channel. The points system seemed similar to the one used my ICC. IIRC Pakistan was rated #1, followed by South Africa, Sri Lanka, India and then the Windies. It showed only the top 5.

What would be better to discuss would be who do we think should top the rankings if they are in place.

they need to bring variety to it. Just like the groundsman from last night T20. Pak v Aus.

Top 10 Econ bowler, Most dot balls. They should look at NFL, MLB

:facepalm Does anyone get the point of this thread.

Rank the current Twenty20 Int Teams, the same way they are ranked for ODI and Test

1) Pakistan
2) South Africa
3) Sri Lanka
4) India
5) West Indies
6) Australia
7) New Zealand
8) England

I reckon all the teams are pretty evenly ranked. Pakistan, South Africa lead the pack IMO, Lankans, Indians, Windies, Aussies, and Kiwis are also very close. In the previous Two World Cups only English team has failed to make it to the semifinals out of the top 8. Pakistan has been the only team that has made it to both semifinals in the two Champioships, you can say SA have been unlucky, they lost only one game IIRC in the first edition and got out.

Funny to see the creators of 2020 at the bottom of the pack. I reckon its the one format where Bangladesh can be competitively ranked as well. Maybe just a shade or two under England

3,4,5 are all really close but Pakistan and Sri Lanka are #1 and #2 for me.

Australia undefeatable at home, because that's where we choose proper T20I Teams.
The minnow nations are all pretty adept at it, so it would be interesting to see global rankings.

I can't believe most of you have NZ very low, I mean they are currently the most consistent T20 side. They beat India, SL and BD recently.
