Story Twenty20 World Cup 2009:End of Group Stages

Some interesting results there. India beat Bangladesh fairly comfortably, predictably, but Bangladesh were mildly competitive, to some extent.
A tight match between the Windies and Australia- WI will be disappointed not to have batted 20 overs, as in hindsight that would have been the difference, and if Gayle could have made a big score out of his start, Australia would have had no show.
Namibia did pretty well against NZ, too. They didn't bat too well, but it was a good effort to restrict NZ to 120 odd in just under 20 overs.

Good presentation, mate. Keep it up, looking forward to your next video- they really set this story apart from the rest.

Your videos are very good. That's what so different about this story compared to other's. Keep up the good work mate.

Last time out at Lords,England were put under pressure from The Netherlands.Scoring at just over 7.5 an over and the game being taken down to the final over.No one expected this from one of the favorites. Now its Pakistan,a hard hitting team with a good seam and spin attack, although can be awful in the field.
Under the lights at The Oval,Younis Kahn won the toss and chose to bowl first, saying he wants to restrict England to another low total, and do better at chasing than the Dutch did.

Wright and Bopara came out to the crease, shortly followed by the Pakistan team.England look like they have found their 2 T20 openers, and one should think they have, seeing as this is about their 15th different opening partnership.
It only took till the second ball for Wright to get the England innings off with a 4 through the covers. Two more were to follow as England hit 13 off the first over.Next over however,Tanvir picked up the wicket of Wright, who couldn't repeat his previous innings,he was gone for 13.Pietersen came out to the crease to a huge cheer from the crowd, his injury has hopefully cleared up for good.He didn't disappoint as he hit two fours early on to get himself settled.
A nice partnership followed this. After 5 overs England were 45-1,with Pietersen surviving an LBW appeal off Tanvir.Bopara was hitting the most boundaries, but Afridi came into the attack,Bopara tried a sweep shot, missed, and was out LWB for 27 off 23 balls.England were 79-2 off 10 overs.
Shah square drived his first ball for four, and hit two more boundaries quickly as he started well. But once again,Shah didn't stay very long. One shot too many, and he was gone for 13.He needs to chip in fast.
Just after this,Pietersen notched up only his 3rd International T20 fifty, coming off 41 balls,a welcome return for Kevin.
England were at 122-3 after 15 overs, and would definitely be looking at 180+ minimum. The two batsmen responded to the 10 RPO call and started to play more aggressively.Four sixes and a few fours come from this little spell.A few overs to go,and Pietersen was finally out,try to slog sweep and being trapped leg before for a great 73 off 56 balls.Mascarenhas showed us all why he was picked, hitting 16 off 9 balls, including a 6 off his second ball, and took England to 182-4 off their 20 overs,a good score, but Pakistan do have some big hitters.
England will have to bowl alot better to restrict Pakistan tonight.
Join us soon for what will be a fascinating chase!

Great Videos. Very Interesting Situation. Pakistan need Misbah to click but i think the target is too big for them..Waiting for the next update

When England's game against Holland was over, there were doubts over how they would perform against the bigger sides. Now they face one of the biggest sides,Pakistan, with powerful batting and a good bowling.England reached 182-4 off their 20 overs.A good score, but could their bowlers perform better this time out?

Butt and Akmal were the openers for Pakistan, and they didn't have much time to get themselves settled.Butt smacked Anderson with a square cut for 4 off the second ball to get them going. But then he was gone,Anderson followed it up with a full delivery on leg stump, which seamed away and sent the middle stump flying,Pakistan 4-1.Shoiab Malik came in and hit a 6 and a 4 in consective balls. The runs then dried up for Pakistan.Anderson and Broad bowling a very tight line,as Pakistan were slugging along at 23-1 off 5 overs.
Malik responded by hitting 4,4,6 off Masceranhas in the 7th over and started to play more freely, with the 50 partnership coming up and Pakistan reaching 61-1 off 10 overs, needing 12.2 RPO to win.
Malik got to his 50 off 30 balls, and he was going along nicely. However,he was removed by Rashid for 67 off 42 balls,an impressive knock,Pakistan 100-2.No-one knew what Kamran Akmal was doing out in the middle. He was going at a test scoring rate,he finally scored his first boundary. After hitting a six,Younis Khan's stay was short,he was caught for 7 for Rashid's 2nd wicket.Afridi hit a 6 off his first ball, but he too was out caught off Rashid, and Pakistan were collapsing,107-4.Rashid finished with 3-30 off his 4 overs, and Pakistan needed 76 runs off 3 overs.
Akmal started off the 17th over with a six off Anderson, but true brilliance was to follow. He bowled a good length ball to Akmal,he missed a slog, and the ball just clipped the top of the stumps,Akmal gone for 24 off 55!.Arafat came in,hit one up in the air,and was caught at mid-on first ball.Umar Gul came out to face the hat-trick ball.Anderson ran up,and delivered the inevitable in swinging yorker. He missed it,hit his back leg,and was out,Anderson picking up the second ever International Twenty20 hat-trick.
Misbah-Ul-Haq,Sohail Tanvir and Saeed Ajmal all fell to Swann,as Pakistan stumbled from 100-2,to 119 all out.A terrific performance all round from England, and they were sailing through to the super eights.Anderson picked up 4-25 and Swann 3-10,but Man of the Match went to Pietersen for his great innings.
So,England responded well to the doubts everyone had,and were now back to being one of the favourites for the Cup.Please join us for the remaining fixtures.Goodbye!

Sorry for the lack of updates. It's my last week of school and I'm drenched in homework and exams.May update this week, and expect a big update this weekend!

We are now into the Super Eight stage of the tournament, where the action will really start to heat up.Tonight,we have England v South Africa, the hosts v the favourites. It's always a great occasion when England play South Africa, and it tends to hot up out on the field. The last time England and South Africa played,South Africa lost 5 match ODI series,4-0,so will be out for revenge this time round.South Africa won the toss, and chose to bat:

We could see straight from the off that South Africa meant business. They absolutely hammered the opening bowlers, and those after them, hitting boundary after boundary.Collingwood did get the break-through for England, with Smith caught for 49 off 30 balls.A six and a four came from Gibbs in as many balls, but Swann fired in a quicker delivery at his feet, looked like it may have been going past leg stump, but was given out for 10.Kallis hit two more sixes, but he too failed to get to a milestone, and he was gone for 40 off 23 balls.A first ball 6 for Albie Morkel, and SA were 110-3 off 10 overs.
De Villiers didn't have a good day,he was caught for Rashid's second wicket for 7.Pietersen bowled the 13th over, and was hit for 4,6,4 off Morkel. The next over,Rashid took his third wicket, with Morkel out for 23 off 12 balls.Duminy started his innings well with a 4,6,4 and SA reached 162-5 with 5 overs to go.
Rashid's final over went for 3 fours off the first 3 balls, then 3 dot balls.Pietersen was still bowling, and was punished as he conceded a 6,4,4 off the 17th over.A tight 18th over from Broad brought the 200 up for South Africa.Anderson started the 19th over with the wicket of Duminy, caught for 39 off just 14 balls,203-6.The next delivery was a yorker, which Botha was able to hit a long way,but was caught on the boundary.Boucher spoiled the rest of the over with 2 sixes.
The last over was bowled by Broad, with economical figures.Peterson was on strike.4,6,4,4,dot ball,4.A terrific effort from Peterson and South Africa all round got them to 239-7.
6 out of England's 7 bowlers went for over 10 RPO.Swann going at 5.
