I have a portable flash drive which I use for my school work. Today, it stopped working. It has a light at the back, which normally goes red when the USB is connected, but the light doesn't go on now. The computer at school recognizes that hardware has been added, but when I click on Removable Disk H or whatever, it says please insert disk in whatever drive. Go on properties, both free and used space is 0 bytes. Can't open it.
At home, the computer doesn't recognize that the hardware has been added. I got to Control Panel - Portable Media Devices and find it, but it has 0 bytes, and nothing happen when I double clikc the icon. It is like something tries to open but collapses very quickly and nothing happens.

Is there anyway I can fix this?

Nope, its dead, get a new one unless it has a protection lock or something.

Most probably it's dead like siddarth said. The exact same thing happened to my old GXT X4 4GB USB 2.0 Mobile Drive. So I returned it but foolishly bought the same model USB Drive once again as it was on sale at that moment.
