Irrespective which teams or players played in anything named, from the time the Ashes began to present day, what are currently your 3 (or even 4) personal favourite Ashes moments in cricket (in terms of play and/or anything else) and please separately say why, for each fave moment mentioned.

Obviously if anything mentioned occurred before you were born and you've only read about it, it's still ok to mention it, but of course most would nominate fave moments seen in person and/or on TV.

Really hard to pick just 3 or 4 but I've got 3 moments that I rate highly - and all 3 involve Shane Warne:

1. Ball of the century to the Gatt, 1993 - Won't wax lyrical about it, it's already been done. Needless to say, awesome delivery.

2. Hattrick at the MCG, 1994/95 - Not the greatest 3 wickets ever taken with DeFreitas, Gough and Malcolm but the moment was magical. As a young lad watching it over the Christmas holidays I'll never forget Boonie's classic diving catch and Tony Greig off his face yelling "He's gone!! It's a hattrick!!"

3. Pietersen bowled around his legs at Adelaide Oval, 2006/07 - Typical Warne theatre. There was only a slim chance of a win in this Test but Warne triggered it by getting rid of KP and the collapse began, followed by a thrilling run chase led by Mike Hussey to get the win.

Steve Waugh's got a couple too: 2 hundreds in a match at Old Trafford, the last ball 4 off Peter Such at the SCG for his century.
