I been reading on the board some post hinting they don't get along.

can someone tell me whats up between the two ?

I did not know if there was anything fishy between the both? was there?

Smith's a complete bell. Thinks because he's captain he has the right to talk down to the experienced members of the side, such as Pollock, Gibbs, Boucher etc. Smith is one of the most up himself, cocky, idiotic cricketers in world cricket, along side Shoaib Akhtar and Jason Gallian, amongst others. Don't like Graeme Smith one bit.

Please, don't compare Shoaib Akhtar with Graeme Smith.

Yeah, Smith doesn't deserve to have his name tarnished by being compared to that snotty, arrogant twat.

Yes he does, Akhtar may be worse, he's more self centered, a druggy, and maybe more arrogant, but Graeme Smith thinks he's miles above Shaun Pollock and the other experienced members of the SA squad, when frankly he isnt. He's a very talented young batsman, but he doesnt have to act like a complete bell at the same time, just get on with your job.

Shoaib AKhtar is a team man. Not into himself

cocky, yes but only with PCB IMO, which is truly right, PCB suck.

Idiotic, nah worlds fastest bowler, with Pasion to Play for his country.

druggy, there are many forms of drugs, one is medicine, yes he took them because stupid PCB has not informed the players what to take and what not to, I don't blame him!!!

arrogant, which he is not, I personally met him and we had a chat, very friendly guy.

Yes he smokes which is bad.

Rawalpindi Express for Life.

I love that excuse "The PCB didnt tell us which drugs we couldnt take", i'm pretty sure that both Akhtar and Asif knew that Nandralone isnt a legal drug when they took it, they shouldnt have to be told that by the PCB. There's no excuse for taking performance enhancing drugs, they knew exactly what they were taking, and that it was illegal. Blaming the PCB, the easy way out.

Graeme Smith is the South African captain, he can do whatever the hell he wants. Thats the end of it.

Yeh, that makes sense. How would the Australians had felt if a new captain was brought in who talked down to Warne and McGrath and made himself out to be above them, even though they are far less experienced, and nowhere near as talented ?. Smith's a numpty, he may be a decent player, but that doesnt give him the right to make condesending comments towards Pollock, Boucher etc. The fact that he's still captain, despite team unrest surprises me, he's not even that good a captain. At least Smith takes the notice away from the other muppets in the team, the over confident and arrogant Andre Nel and the match fixer Herschelle Gibbs.

Also, Roborocks, we're not arguing, we're having a discussion about the question asked in the thread. I dont see why going remotely off topic is such an offense here, especially if it's cricket related :?

Bringing in Shoaib into the thread is off topic since this has been discussed before and its not to do with Smith or Pollock.

It's not the offtopic part that concerns us, it's the fact that the argument over Shoaib and Asif will go on for a while and is obviously causing distress to certain members. It's already been done, time to move on. They took drugs, leave it at that, their intent can only be guessed by us (however good an idea we may have).

This thread is for discussing the other arrogant twat known as Graeme Smith. The problem with him is that he has lots to say and often fails to back it up. I have no doubt that he will one day be one of the best batsmen in the world, but he will also be one of the least liked.

All right, first off. You don't even know for sure that Smith made any "Condescending" comments towards Pollock or Boucher. So your argument is dead in the water. If Smith isn't a good captain then explain to me how he has managed to kick your pitiful English team off the number two ranking?

Is it, and I'm just guessing here, your problem with Smith is that he doesn?t like Kevin Pietersen? (an arrogant twit himself)

Finally. Calling Gibbs a match fixer, wow, is that what this discussion has come to? Obviously a very mature guy you are. Btw, which match was it that Gibbs fixed again?

No, it's not just because he isnt friends with KP. Flintoff has slagged him off in his book, he got into a pathetic argument with Michael Vaughan over bad light, has had various arguments with Aussie players over his arrogance, and has been in trouble various times with his own cricket board, and the ICC over various things including dissent, and even racial abuse, which i know he was cleared of. Pietersen may be arrogant himself, but he doesnt flaunt it anywhere near as much as Smith, Smith thinks far too highly of himself.

As for the Gibbs comment, that was an incorrect statement i know, i read an article the other day about Hansie Cronjie and read that Herschelle Gibbs was involved, and banned, and just presumed he was involved, it seems he wasnt. Was offered $15'000 to score under 20, but went on to make 72. I apoligise for that statement.
