What's the fuss? Convince me.

Well, I'm looking forward to the new release for sure but just wondering what the fuss is about?

I have the 17/18 Ashes all set up and running on DB17 and its looking good and probs a whitewash so Stokesy is well out of it! ha (only joking)

Anyways I have looked at the new 'Ashes' game promo with the beta vids and it also looks pretty good. But all I can really see is slightly better graphics, players who look slightly more like they are than they are in the DB17 Academy, and a 'keyboard' control interface which no serious players will use.

So why should I get the new Big Ant Ashes for £40 odd for what looks like a minor upgrade? If they have improved the gameplay and sorted various outstanding narks like the 'death rattle' ball (uh!) and other AI stuff then I might be tempted. After patch 2 off course.

Convince me! ha

Even in current situation (afyer day 1 patch) game is worth buying if you are real cricket fan.

I havent played online yet but for AI or single game player, in one line comment the AI is so far the best among all cricketing games.

The best thing is AI score pacing in legend/hardest difficulty. M loving it

I don't own the game; this will be based on what I've read and seen.

Star players have been been fully motion-captured - We don't know the full list yet but the few which are known are - Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. You can choose/assign a batting/bowling style to a particular player in Cricket Academy or your own career player.

Fielding has been improved vastly, some like Smith are motion-captured for the same as well and can be seen in some of the officially released videos in the Media thread, that's another plus.

Much better and improved gameplay - can be seen in the gameplay videos. Refined fielding, realistic dismissals, smooth animations and so on along with improved AI. Plus adds a lot many new features and options. Most players play like their real self.
Big Ant’s most detailed and refined cricket engine to date allows for true 360-degree batting. No two players will play the game the same way.

Better commentary, SFX, crowd sound and ingame music.

Bugs which existed in 17 are no longer here - like the stat issue and so on.

Graphically game looks great - 4K HDR support for the Xbox One X, licensed stadiums, photorealistic likenesses for all of the Australian and English men’s and women’s teams.

Of course somebody who owns the game would be able to put it much better but this is what I've got from the past month or two.

No game can never be perfect and especially a sports game, now it's all up to you and your decision whether or not to buy the game. Cheers and good luck.
