This thread is to note down your 'picks' for the next five to ten years to become impressive international cricketers. The only stipulation is for the player to have played less than forty international matches. You can pick any amount of players and just give a short paragraph to explain why you think they are talented and if you can provide a few impressive stats, all the better.

Here are mine, for now:

Joe Denly(England): A strokeplaying, fast scoring batsman, Joe Denly has shown an ability to dominate weak and strong attacks alike. Having scored brisk fifties against Yorkshire and India, even the most talented attacks still fall to his powerful offside drives. With an average of 54.09 in four day County Cricket, he has made one of the most impressive starts of anyone to English County Cricket.

Robin Uthappa(India): Another fast scoring batsman. Robin Uthappa seems to be an ideal fit to the disputed opening slot in the Indian ODI and (in future) Test teams. With a strike rate of over a run a ball in his ten ODIs, he seems to be the ideal culprit to make use of the powerplays for India. With a FC average of 41.61, the longer form of the game is not beyond the talented 21 year old.

I would love for you to keep this thread going to see just who is the best talent scout on planetcricket. I will keep a list to keep track of who has picked whom.

Manee: Joe Denly; Robin Uthappa

Griffo: Shaun Tait; David Hussey; Moises Henriques

Evertonfan: Tom Smith; Matt Roberts; Jeremy Grieg; Jeremy Snape (short term)

Puddleduck: Billy Godleman; Stuart Broad; Liam Plunkett

Roborocks: Adil Rashid; Stuart Broad

Simbazz: Michael Lumb; Chris Tremlett

Skateboarder: Adil Rashid; Stuart Broad; Suresh Raina

Rabeta: Sajid Mahmood; Joe Denly; James Harris; Tariq Mahmood

King Pietersen: Alastair Cook; Stuart Broad; Suresh Raina; Ravi Bopara

Jaztheman: Alastair Cook

Almost Austwick: Sam Northeast; James Harris; Chris Jordan

wfdu_ben91: Adam Coyte; Ben Smith; himself

Shaun Tait - Has the aggression and mindset to destroy a batsmen before he starts to run in. Has the ability to break a game wide open which is an ability each Australian player seems to have also

David Hussey - Should join his brother in the test set up, will probably be on tour in 2009 in England with his experience with the county scene

Tom Smith - Nippy line and length RMF bowler; Won't be long before he's given a go.

Matt Roberts - Absolutely fantastic all-rounder. To think that he's only 16 as well is unreal; Hurls the ball down at a consistent 95mph pace and has a 57 ball hundred to his name which he made on debut for Lancashire. Keep 'em peeled for this lad.

Shaun Tait
David Hussey

Reading isn't your strong point is it Griffo?

You could try writing a short paragraph on why you picked the players; As the thread asks you to do.

Well Alistair Cook and Kevin Pietersen have both played under 40 international tests (although KP has 50 odd ODI) and in my opinion will be two of the premier batsman in world cricket for the next 10-15 years. Not exactly sticking my neck on the line with those two though ;)

I'll go with Billy Godleman since he plays for a club just around the corner for me as well as Middlesex, and a top player from our club has moved to Brondesbury and on occassions plays in the 1's with him. Comfortably averaging in 40's in his first year for Middlesex and I think still under 20.

Again not sticking my neck out but I do think Stuart Broad will be England's star bowler for a good 10 years. (I also think Plunkett will eventually sort out his lines and be a star in world cricket)

Are you serious never heard of him thats a talent and a half. But remember Saj Mahmood can bowl over 90 mph and is absolutely hopeless

I saw him play once, top player - unfortunately he's a grumpy lad who worries too much about his hair :p

I searched for him and came up with nothing do you have any links?

I honestly hope he doesnt break down physically which is more than likely to occur. Even if hes english just to see him at his peak would be INSANE!
