Who do you currently regard as the 3 greatest Australian cricket players ever and why?

Why did it go from their to they're? I would have Waugh and Border over Taylor too. Plus I don't even know about old timers like Benaud.

████, I meant to put Allan Border. I've completely messed up that post.

hard choice really because most of cricketers have played in different times these days the games are tougher and very competitive so i guess in talking of aussies great all of them have been good in there own reign so it's hard to decide really but Ponting , Waugh , Bradman , Gilly have all been the greats of Aussies cricket.

Screw 3. I'll pick XI:

1. Arthur Morris
2. Matthew Hayden
3. Sir Don Bradman
4. Greg Chappell
5. Ricky Ponting
6. Keith Miller
7. Adam Gilchrist
8. Shane Warne
9. Dennis Lillee
10. Ray Lindwall
11. Glenn McGrath

Don Bradman
Adam Gilchrist
Shane Warne

Gilchrist might be a bit iffy, but you can't agrue with Warne and Bradman.

Bradman-Best batsman
Gilchrist-Redefined wicket-Keeper's role
Warne-Greatest Leggie

1. Bradman - This selection doesn't need explaining. He was the greatest cricketer of all time
2. Warne - I rate him as the best spinner ever
3. One of McGrath, Gilchrist, Miller, Lillee, Greg Chappell etc

Matthew Hayden - one of the most destructive batsman.
Shane Warne - Needs no reason.
Michael Bevan - Mr. Reliable.

Lolwut? Where is the best player in history? Hayden shouldn't there. But Bevan? Bevan played 18 Tests and averaged 29.07, and was a lower order batsmen in limited overs cricket, and you say he is one of the best three players Australia has ever had? He isn't in the top 3 batsmen, let alone of top 3 players. God, he probably isn't in the top 10 batsmen.

the guy who made that list was Indian.

I am aware of that, but so what? I would bet my life that he has heard of Sir Donald Bradman, and is aware how truly great he is, as he stands in history as the greatest batsmen and the greatest cricketer, of all time.

Statements like this are usually opinions but in the case of Sir Bradman, no one can deny they are facts.

I wouldn't post it if it wasn't true. If, for example, I thought that Ian Botham was the best cricketer ever, I would have said "in my opinion". I don't think it's an opinion the Bradman was the best the game has ever witnessed, and probably will ever witness.

For a second there I thought you said " the best I have witnessed" LOL
