Who Should Replace Dravid in the Test Team after he hangs his boots?

Even though Gambhir is an Opening Batsman and is already in the side, I believe that he will be Dravid-esque over the course of his career. He'll probably be a tad more aggressive then Dravid though.

India would be better off opting for a moderate middle-order batsman rather then a defensive one like Dravid, because Gambhir seems capable of playing in the same vain as what Dravid has over his career. By the time that Dravid retires, Gambhir will have a fair deal of International experience under his belt aswell.

Gambhir's better then Sehwag, IMO.

AGREE! When Gambhir gets to the point where he matches Sehwag's current experience, he would have a better record. A technically better player and can be very aggressive if he wants to.

I am surprised that none of you talked bout Raina. The guy got crazy amount of talent in him and has a sound mind too(which yuvraj may envy). Even wisden lauded him as left handed tendulkar for the future. He's only 21 and yet playing like such a complete player now. :hpraise:hpraise

Needs to improve his FC record a little more IMO. Right now, he's just another Ganguly in test matches.

He needs to tighten up his defense. He's still very young and will probably have a crack at the test side eventually. Till then, he'll be the Yuvraj of old. An OD specialist.

He's better than Yuvraj though. If Yuvraj can play test then Raina also deserve a place.
