who do u think will opening the batting with sehwag in the upcoming series against australia

i would think it would be yuvraj but i am not sure may be ganguly or kaif you never remember it is indian team

robert am i a cricket expert that you are asking me that question i dont i give a damn who is going open batting in test match dude

its who do you think.....you can say balaji and pathan too if you want.

personally I think they will go back to chopra and sehwag (at least they should). i think sehwag's pretty much established himself at the top, maybe it depends on the champions trophy. dada said that test opening pair will depend on ODI performance so the people he has in mind are probably sehwag and yuvraj.

I think it will have to be Chopra and Sehwag.......These 2 were the reason for a great showing in Oz, and I don't think they should discard Chopra this quickly. He is an awsome fielder at bat-pad. He is the best that I have since the great Eknat Solkar......Yuvraj dropped a couple of sitters in the 3rd test against Pak, when Chopra was dropped and luckily it didn't prove too costly, but in India the bat-pad is a very important position, especially of Bhajji, when he is bowling well, so I think they should keep Chopra, if not for his batting, then keep him as a fielder and u get a very very good opening batsman...

Also another reason to keep him is that Sehwag feels very comfortable batting with him and it is very important that Sehwag is firing on all cylinders when Australia come to India and with Chopra and Sehwag they gave India great starts in all tests when they were in Oz....

Fianl Verdict: Yuvraj is still young, no doubt he will be a future test player, but at this moment there is no room for him in the middle-order, only one that could be dropped is Ganguly, but that won't happen as he is India's most successfull captain, and there is no point in changing the opening position, as after a long long time India has got a stable opening combination and it woould be stupid to try and change something that isn't broken!!!!

if a batsment doesnt bat well ..... but his fielding is good ......if i was the captian i wouldnt keep him in the team because there is alot of young players who are welling to get in the team and play for there country and they are ready to be called by the cricket board.... a batsment is there for batting well that is it is called batsment if he doesnt bat well then no need for him to be in the team..

If that was the case, why did Jonty Rhodes, play so many games. I don't mean to say he was a useless batsman, but he wasn't a top-line batsman, but definately improved his batting over time, but if he was playing he would save the team 20-30/innings (if not more and also take any half chances, in terms of catches or run-out oppurtunities) and that makes a massive difference in the outcome of a match.......
Chopra can provide the same effect, obviously not in the class of Rhodes in the outfield, but in close he has taken half-chances which otherwise wouldn't have been taken, and by that he would saved his side a hell of a lot of runs and plus whatever he scores in opening is a bonus as long as he sees of the new ball for the likes of Dravid, Tendulkar and co.... and has done is gr8 job of that so far in his career....
Fielding is very important aspect and in Test Matches, close-in fielding is quite important for any half-chances that may arise, so in that regard Chopra would have to be rated ahead of Yuvraj, as Yuvraj wasn't that comfortable at bat-pad against Pak, and with the series being in India, both Kumble and Bhajji should play and he will have to spend a hell of a lot of time under the helmet, and that requires a specialist to do that job, and Chopra is the best fielder in close for India......and for that reason he should be picked ahead of Yuvraj
