Who will win the World Series?

This is going to be a great matchup between the Chicago White Sox and the Houston Astros. Both teams have some of the best pitchers in the league and both some good hitting.

White Sox

Their pitchers have been pitching great throughout the playoffs. Contreras, Beuhrle, Garland, and Garcia between them have won 7 games and lost only one, even that by just 1 run. The last four games each Sox pitcher pitched a complete game. In the batting side, they have Konerko, Crede, Podsednik, and on his good days Perzynski.

Astros

Oswalt, Pettite, and Clemens. Any team would love to have these three pitchers. But can they prove their stuff against Sox's timely hitting? They don't have many big hitters in their line-up, but whatever they have was enough to root out the Cardinals.

No matter who wins, this world series promises to be a very enjoyable one, with both teams evenly matched.

Such an exciting series going right now, yet there is no interest here on PC. Result wise its a boring series, what with the White Sox being ahead 3-0, but every game is a very exciting one, especially game 2 when Podsednik hit the winning home-run. Game 3 last night went on for 14 friggin' innings. What a world series for the White Sox fans. It just amazes me how interest there is in snooker but none at all in baseball's epic series.

To be fair when the World Series started, the USA was pretty much the only country playing baseball professionally.

Also there is actually a proper World Cup taking place in March.

What an awesome season for us White Sox fans!! We won the first game of the season and never gave up the lead after that, though it came pretty close towards the end. Then in the playoffs, we swept the defending champs in the first round, lost one game against the Angels, and then went on an eight game winning streak to win the world series!!

CONGRATULATIONS WHITE SOX ON A WELL DESERVED WIN!!

On the topic of it being called the World series, there are more immigrants in baseball today than almost any other popular sport in the U.S. So I guess in a way it is the world series.

P.S: Did I mention this is White Sox's first world series title since 1917?
