Windows 7 series phone

Heard that AT&T is dropping the iPhone (Verizon is picking it up for the US market). Hope AT&T get hold of this baby so that I can think of buying this next.

- Multitasking
- Copy and paste
- Tethering

No there :p

Multitasking isn't there for third party apps I believe. Copy and Paste will be available with the first patch which will be out Jan 2011, but Microsoft will make it an optional feature as they believe it is not required.

If they do have copy and paste, I hope it is implemented well. Copy and paste on the iPhone is dreadful. Whenever I have the need to copy and paste something it seems that it is impossible to select what I want to. The BlackBerry copy-and-paste functionality was so much more useful.

That said C&P seems pretty unnecessary if you can use context and format to infer the semantic meaning of data. Such as dates being linked to the calendar, phone numbers to the phone app and emails to email/phonebook, etc.

I must admit that having used the Omnia 7 for almost a month now, I am already missing copy and paste. Love the new OS and the smoothness etc. but I don't think copy and paste can ever die out.

Therefore I am looking forward to the next update. Lack of multitiasking for third party apps hasn't affected me much since I mainly use MSN messenger only.

Nokia and Microsoft have announced a strategic partnership today which amongst other things will see Nokia smartphones run on Windows Phone 7.

I never understood how Nokia even bothered with developing MeeGo.
