Right - my first winter season as a club cricketer. My plan is, and has been in practice.

From now on continually - Gym 3 times a week, 1 hour weights, 1/2 hour endurance (running, cross-trainer, rowing machine)

Midway through January - Coaching sessions (I need them, only played half a season having first started playing in May '06)

February, March - Indoor Nets

April - Season starts, outdoor nets twice/thrice a week.

Last season I was lacking some muscle. The idea is to improve my build a lot, making it far easier to bowl more quickly and accurately and allowing me to put more power in my shots when I bat. Does that run-in seem fine to you?

Good idea. Also good idea to join a sports club, in your case, since your a pom, a soccer or rugby club, and the training will really help you.

I know from experience playing Aussie Rules has helped my tennis alot.

Been in Nets since November. Doing my game a lot of good. And I joined a gym. Definatly helping my fitness. being as I'm really hoping to push on next year.
Gym does you a lot of good, Simply because of the Quick intensity of the work compared to Crickets Sparce but very intense nature. Running in and Bowling, Running between the wickets etc.
