Would you still pay to watch Shoaib Akhtar?

I donno about others but I will. The guy gives in 200% for his team and the pace he generates is mindblowing. He is the fastest bowler in the world and is an amazing talent.

Agreed he has disciplinary issues, but who doesn't? Shane Warne has a history of misdemeanour's. Yet the world swears by him. His injuries have troubled him, like every other bowler have been troubled by theirs. I hope Shoaib comes back stronger after his operation. :)

The Shoaib Akhtar of 1999 would be nice.

Of course, this Akhtar is unfit, and can barely touch 84 mph the last time he bowled.

May as well play a better and more deserving bowler like Rao Iftikhar.

He was bowling despite an injury. He really gives it everything he's got, like Pakistan's Flintoff. I really hope to see him back in action fast. He was mindblowing in IPL 1 :)

Not really. In 2004 he walks off the field telling Inzamam he can't bowl.

Later he comes to bat and smashes Indian bowlers to all parts. I've never been fully convinced by Shoaib's commitment to Pakistan cricket at all.

I don't care. He's exciting, fast, and knows how to get the crowd up and cheering. I like Shoaib, he's good for the game.

I reckon he has not been the "fastest bowler in the world" for quite some time now.

He's not, but it looks like he's bowling fast :p

Who cares, play him in T20s at least. He's a fun, entertaining cricketer!

Too much fast bowling talent in that country to take such a backwards step.

Hmarka added 0 Minutes and 31 Seconds later...

That and he's a pretty cool guy :p.

yea , as cool as you can be once you have genital warts

The old Shoaib was great to watch. Can't say the same now.

I'm not sure whose going to be cheering for a fatass who stuggles to bowl 2 overs at 80-85 mph...
The opposition.

The Ahktar fab has died off now, he doesn't have that same fear factor that he had at his peak.

He's not the fastest anymore, but that doesn't change the fact he was the fastest ever, until his 100.2 mph delivery record is broken. There's no denying he is past his prime now though, but still has some cricket left in him. He was magic in IPL 1.

I think Harold Larwood was the fastest ever. Just that there was no way to record his speed at the time.
