Hey i just put in coolgame cricket 2002 patch, everything seems fine except that now computer plays aggressively all the time even in a fifty over match. Its so easy to get them out since they try to hit on every single ball and get caught. I liked the bowling variation in this patch, what i was looking for if i can just take the bowling part of this match not anything else. How do i do that or else is there any patch that puts in speed, bounce, spin etc. for the bowlers. Please help me out guys!?!?

I just played my first 50 over match using this patch, although I only used the one-day pacing files and the fielding settings, not the strokes, bowling files, etc.

I was NZ v West Indies @ NZ on Normal pitch.
Batting first I got 277/8 off 50 overs.
West Indies had a run rate of 8 in the first 15 overs then ended up all out in the 30th over for 177 well above the run rate. The problem is that when someone gets out the next guy is aggressive right from the first ball. I knocked off the last 4 batters for about 10 runs. They had trouble with Vettori and Bonds yorkers knocking off the last 3 guys as he did vs Aus in WC. I also noticed the fielding positions were the same for spinners as for fast bowlers, which is strange.

along with this cool patch, install zimrahils patch as well wherein the CPU sweeps at every yorker u bowl him..this is just to make the game play more difficult
cheers /d/

I would do that, but um, how often do you see batters sweep yorkers in real life? And what good is cricket without the yorker?

the blame rests at the developers door

Totally agree that in real life you never sweep fast bowlers yorkers, but as the developer (Jeremy Wellard) once admitted at cricketgames.com, the sweep is the only effective attacing shot for the human player against the yorker. Other shots can be used but theres too high a risk of missing the ball and being bowled.

Therefore you have to work within the constraints of the gameplay as set out by the developers. So to stop people from bowling yorkers all the time (made too easy by the developer in my opinion) I did it so that most yorkers are swept by the cpu, thus preventing people picking up too many "cheap" wickets.

It doesn't look pretty admittedly, but if you want to continually bowl yorkers and still expect the cpu to bat its full quota of overs , what else is there to do ?

The annoying this is, is that in BLC, the same developer made the game so that many shots could be played to the yorker (my favourite being the leg glance or on drive). But these shots in c2k2 are just too hard to time correctly to be used with any confidence</span>

Timing of shots in c2002 is ridiculously hard. And when you think of it, the sweet and leg glance are the only attacking shots that could and should(not often seen though) be played against a yorker

but guys you haven't told me if there's a patch that only put variations in your bowling like spin, bounce and speed etc. Or how can manipulate and take out files to make it just do the bowling variations part. Where do u put that config folder anyways in cricket2002 folder?

Irfan,
unfortunately the configs won't make amendments to human bowling, just cpu.
