FTP: Youth pull

Been a long time since I got a good one, and it's about time my 'good' academy got me a good pull.

I can't afford to invest any more money into my academies. My wages are already putting me into the red each week.

My wages went up 20k with the change in seasons, but I get 12k more in sponsorship and hopefully should get more in gate takings as my opponents will be better, have bigger supporters clubs and bigger grounds. Means I'll lose more though, and my supporters club won't be high.

Also, I'm selling about 30k worth of people. Hopefully this season I won't be down 40k each week...

Were the wages that crippling that you need to sell some first XI players?

Man I just saw my first opponent in my youth league. In his last match, he had a match rating of 95,111. Not looking like a fun time for my new boys.

He'd be worth a fair bit Aussie. No dreadful secondaries, reasonable batting, probably around 600k.

And my pull was absolutely shocking.

Well I felt that it would be better to play some of my youths, and that I could find better players. O'Brien and Thorpe were 27, and I wasn't really playing Thorpe, favouring my younger all-rounders in Curtin and Ameen instead. Fox was only a medium pacer and out/out and I reckon I can find a better one. Kallichuran was costing me 9k a week, and I never played him (he was spec/exp LM bowler with terrible secondaries).

I'm looking for a batsman and a bowler now. Spec/spec with decent secondaries.

I would rather break even this season as well, rather than lose money each week

Yea, I see what you mean. I may sell my backup senior keeper since I considering I could play my youth keeper.

Actually when I look at it, I've really been underusing my youth. It would be good experience for them as well to play a senior game here and there.

Yup, using your youth is a really good idea when playing bots because it gives them experience. I do that all the time, playing my youth keeper and my star youth batsman quite often in senior matches. It's especially good to play your youth keeper in T20s because it's really unlikely that he'll have to bat anyway.

Well then I guess I'll be selling a few of my players. I really need a good batsman for my middle order and a few pace bowlers.

He has a whole heap of spare ratings, but don't think he'd fetch too much

He'd fetch a fair bit, I'd reckon. Around $150,000, I reckon. Maybe $200,000. He has average power and batting and ordinary technique.

Yeah, dreadful experience, poor endurance. That would bring it down. Summary's are normally about one level at least less than their primary and tech while still in the youth team and sometimes in their early 20's.
