Is the pick above valid? Steyn wouldn't be local to Mumbai?

Just wanna check before I make my selection

MEETING

The ICC Board had gathered at the ICC headquarters in Dubai today for an important discussion on the newly acquired league. In the lead up to these meetings, various other committee meetings, including the ICC Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC) meeting, also took place.

NEW TOURNAMENT

In this meeting ICC has planned for the first time a club league in replacement to the champions trophy and will adopt the basic idea of FIFA Club World Club.

It was named ICC World T20 challenge and will be a totally new venture in domestic cricket.

It would make ICC easy to reduce its expenses in tournament setup as the have bought the World T20 Challenge from an association owned by @HawkAussie

MORE DETAILS SOON...

Launch of the ICC World T20 Challenge

iccpro40.png
The inaugural season tournament will be played at England.
But ICC also announced that even Ireland, and Scotland will host with England and Wales.
It will start on 28 October 2010.

FORMAT

It will have 8 teams, each one from the countries which originally participated in CT.

There will be a qualifiers for another 8 teams of 8 full/associate members who have both ODI and T20 status.

ICC WT20C QUALIFIERS

The Qualifiers will be a knockout cup. The fixtures draw is random.

The nation ZIMBABWE will be hosting it. Venues to be updated at the front page.

The winner and runner up will qualify for the original tournament.

THE ORIGINAL TOURNAMENT

Totally 10 teams will play in total

After end of group stage matches, the top five placed teams will qualify.

Like this

These five teams will play in the playoffs.

PLAYOFFS

In the first round the lowest two ranked teams play to eliminate one team and the second and third ranked teams determine which match they will play in the second round.
The highest ranked team has a bye to the second round.
In this case, if all teams have an even chance of winning each match, the highest ranked team has a 37.5% chance, ranks two and three have a 25% chance and the lowest two ranked teams have a 6.25% chance of winning the competition.

To make it more clear you can look at the fixtures to be posted soon.

Hope everyone enjoys it

I gonna have to pass. I originally signed up and built my squad keeping the 20-over format in mind. Not the 40-over one. I've lost the enthusiasm I once had for this league due to the format change.

I still wish you the best taking this forward. :thumbs
