They haven't groomed anyone yet. Pat Cummins seems the favourite to take over. That said, I am not ruling out a surprise here.

Actions of the past seem to be hounding cricketers of the present. By that logic, half the Australian team would be involved in something or the other.
 
Obviously not great as he's married but this seems to be from a few years ago and has already been investigated and it was found to be "consensual, private, occurred on the one occasion only, was between mature adults and was not repeated". Unless there's more to this story not really sure why this requires his resignation.

Probably had an affair or something like that, and the texts and their existence has been made public now, so resigned for personal reasons.
 
Why is there any confusion regarding who will captain next? Doesn't the VC take over the reigns? Hard to see the point of having a VC then.
