Do you get any sort of error messages or does the computer just become non-responsive? does it recover? what OS are you using? when you say connect to the internet do you use dialup or do you mean when you run internet explorer? What version of internet explorer are you using or are you indeed using something like Firefox? If so do you have the same problem if you use a different browser?

So many questions

Download Spybot Search and Destroy to scan your PC for spywares. If you have an antivirus, update it and run a full system scan to check for viruses.
If you don't, I'd recommend, download Avast! Free edition. Would serve your purpose well.

Does your internet work fine? It could be a browser related issue, with some firefox plugin causing a memory leak. Try using Internet explorer instead.

I'd back that up, but note that sometimes a spyware is found by one scan when it isn't found by another: I found two problems, one monitoring tool and one malware with Adaware 2008, that weren't found by Spybot. It's a good idea to have more than one package. Needless to say, they were both terminated with extreme prejudice!

Yeah, you are right about having more than one package, but what I told him was the 1st step.
Being on dialup, downloading lots of softwares and heavy files might be cumbersome (and expensive). Spybot is relatively smaller in size, and has smaller definition files as well.

Another pretty small app worth having is Stinger

McAfee Threat Center

This wont protect you, but it is quite handy if you just want to remove viruses from infected machines.

:clapThank you very much you guys.:clap
:DAt last I am working with no tension:D

Oh, didn't read he was on dial-up.

I don't know I use spybot and it detect a file which was deleted immediately I can't see the name at the time of scanning.
