The ICC's Chief Executives' Committee (CEC) has recommended that the Champions Trophy in September be shifted from Sri Lanka to South Africa following concerns over weather conditions in the island nation during that period. The ICC board is expected to take a final decision on the matter on Monday.

According to the ICC, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) were unable to provide a guarantee during a teleconference on Wednesday that there would be no rains in Colombo during the tournament which runs from September 24-October 5.

Meh, Nice pitches in South Africa. Some more UV 6's and Sehwag Specials :thumbs

I dont know which bloody idiot even thought of letting SL host the CT when they have already hosted it 7 years ago.

Great to see RSA hosting the CT, they are really good hosts because they always produce a wide variety of crowds from different nations and the pitches are really good as well. I am getting exceited already.

Yeah UV,King of Sixers,King of T20 :p
Seriously,Its really a good decision to have it in SA.Will be looking forward to it.
That too India are known to play big tournaments in SA quite well.

And yet Sri Lanka was always the second option. They've never suggest holding it at a different time of year, so really, Sri Lanka would never have been able to host the CT. It's taken them an awful long time to spot this.

I thought South Africa did a fantsatic job of hosting the World T20, so giving them the Champions Trophy makes perfect sense. Good pitches offering a bit for the bowlers. Looking forward to it. India are going to win it though unfortunately.

Don't be so sure. India are yet to face the likes of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel in ODI's. Then again Yuvraj did dismiss Brett Lee at ease last time they locked horns :D

Morne Morkel? LOL. Dale Steyn's a real threat (although possibly not in ODi's, have to wait and see), but if India can spank Andrew Flintoff and Stuart Broad in ODi's, they'll have zero trouble with Morkel.

Can't say India will win it...although they will be one of the favorites for sure. I see India, South Africa and Aus as favorites, with Westindies as the dark horse.

I wasn't aware that SLC was in charge of the weather gods.

How come South Africa get all the tournaments. In the passed 6 years they've had the WC, the WT20 and now the CT.

Australia have not had a major tournament since 1992. And we've been the World No.1 all that time.

Even England have had all the tournaments in the passed 10 years.

^^^^ Ye im not too pleased with SA getting all those tournaments in such a short space of time. Give it Australia for once so that I go see a International Competition for once.:D
