The amount of high scores suggest its only a matter of time before one occurs. Dilshan and Sehwag both choked in their attempt as they could have done it with ease in the end. Wouldn't surprise me if they had another chance with the flat pitches we are seeing of late.

It could be anyone. Who would have predicted that C Coventry would be the one to tie Anwar's record

Well apparently after an Indian, Pakistani or a Kiwi, it could be me, so you never know, it really is a lottery then. Then again, I reckon I could take the current Indian seam attack apart so maybe it is likely ;)

Well Sachin Tendulkar missed on two occasions this year
163* Vs NZ
175* vs Aus
I think that Sachin would be one of the players to get a 200.
I also bet for Dilshan, Viru, Gayle, and Smith.

His 175 wasn't not out. And he didn't miss out, there were 12 balls left and less than 25 to get.

The 175 he was looking really good to get the double 100, but his partner took a fair bit of the strike and reduced the amount of runs. Tendulkar also seem to be tiring. He definitely could have made the 200 that game though.

Virender Sehwag.... no brainer :)

If he becomes the 1st man to get 200+runs in a ODI I will stop watching cricket and sports all together. He might be able to get big innings in tests but it is allot different in ODIs. He also doesn't play the weak teams that much so he will always have to face good bowling attacks. And lets face it he isn't all that special in ODIs, 3-4 other openers that are better then he is in ODIs.

Matthew Hayden could have done that. According to me, Chris Gayle can get double 100. Or maybe a Bangladesh batsman against Zimbabwe. There are lots of possibility.

Cant wait till next year. Chris Gayle on subcontinent pitches=murder. Just like he did in the Champions Trophy in India.

Matthew Hayden could have done that.
Matty Hayden because he starts so confidently, and never stops.

Should be one of the upcoming World Cups. Each of them will have small grounds, and the opportunity for players such as Gayle and Sehwag to play minnow attacks.

You can say that again. If its not Sachin or Dilshan, its Gayle imo.

Dilshan doesn't have a chance. He's not classy enough. Players like Tendulkar. Sehwag and Gayle have the best chance.
