The common disconnects with previous online cricket titles meant it was near impossible to complete matches of any substance (and even if it didn't, who has the patience to play a full ODI online in one sitting all that often?) - so made making tournaments online hard.

You mean in the event of a disconnect the game will autosave itself? Or will the game only start from the previous saved point? I think you said the game autosaves itself too after each overand a fall of wicket.

Yes, as long as both machines haven't actually crashed then the recovery and continuation is possible, at that time or some time in the future upon mutual agreement of the players.

Ross, will it be possible to play against the AI (i.e., the AI takes over) in case someone quits on you online? I'm afraid that if you leave disconnects in a "to be continued/resumed" state, we will have all and sundry quit/disconnect the game and never join/resume the game.

Also, it's not realistic to expect both the online users to be available at the same time in the future so it would make more sense for a "disconnected" game to be taken over by the A.I. After all if I'm playing an online game and my opponent quits, or is disconnected, I shouldn't be penalized for it and should have an opportunity to complete the rest of the game against AI.

I'm all for saving an online game but the feature shouldn't be for quit/disconnected games as it will only play in favor of quitters.

Fair enough. I thought it was a better idea to get everyone designated a team early rather than have loads of people fighting over their team later. Fair enough then. I will forget this thread until release date has been announced. If nobody's interested we can have a series home and away against each other.
