But that's the thing, are there really better international players in the Big Bash? I mean, I think dragging it out all summer over here meant that we were never getting the top players in, but when we had that condensed competition over the summer, we had some decent players over here. Big Bash just seems to have a lot of English players and some West Indies guys. A few older internationals as well maybe, but I wouldn't say the quality of the overseas players is that much higher.
The problem is, that the IPL does have that, because there's an international window made especially for it. Therefore, we can't compete with that, because the likes of De Villiers and Warner are normally going to be either playing Internationally, or taking a break when our competition is running.
I just thing people assume that franchises will result in the best competition in the world, with the biggest names and the most money being banded about. We have to be realistic about it.
