But that's the thing, are there really better international players in the Big Bash? I mean, I think dragging it out all summer over here meant that we were never getting the top players in, but when we had that condensed competition over the summer, we had some decent players over here. Big Bash just seems to have a lot of English players and some West Indies guys. A few older internationals as well maybe, but I wouldn't say the quality of the overseas players is that much higher.

The problem is, that the IPL does have that, because there's an international window made especially for it. Therefore, we can't compete with that, because the likes of De Villiers and Warner are normally going to be either playing Internationally, or taking a break when our competition is running.

I just thing people assume that franchises will result in the best competition in the world, with the biggest names and the most money being banded about. We have to be realistic about it.

Of course, franchises and a window doesn't automatically equal the best overseas players in the world. But sometimes, it's not the best players in the world who are the best T20 players...

This year I believe the big bash overseas players have been toned down quite a bit due to the fact that their all in preparation for the world cup. The overseas situation has clearly been made worse by the more spread fixtures.

Something I have been thinking about but why not keep the County teams but shorten when it is played (June-July) and have a second level competition that also runs for counties outside those in the top lot so they can develop players by loaning them to other clubs who maybe don't have as much interest. I.e Essex in the Top Division, Cornwall in the Second. I can go into more depth if needed.

I think the general aim of most people making the suggestions though are to decrease the teams at the top level to provide a higher quality tournament as well as a higher ability to commercialize it.

The question is when will the league be played because the timing matters the most for the investors. Only During holiday season viewers are more and revenu can be generated which all investors point at. Eg: Ipl is played only during INDIAN summer where almost all of the people are involved

The school summers holidays here are late July to the start of September, last year all the one day games were played in this gap whilst the T20's were played mostly on Fridays evenings before them.

Friday and Saturday nights are absolute must's for T20 as those are the nights where you'll see your biggest crowds.

Pietersen expanded on his views in the Telegraph where he is now a highly-paid columnist.

"The present Twenty20 structure of playing once a week on a Friday over a three-month period is just not working," he wrote. "It puts off the best overseas players from joining our league, as it is too spread out. It is hard for Twenty20 specialists to stay in form.

"Playing the majority of fixtures on Friday nights perhaps does not encourage children and families quite as much as guys on a night out.

"So what is my solution? A short tournament of a maximum of 10 teams played in the school holidays. A smaller, condensed tournament will improve the competitive element, keeping more teams interested for longer and driving up the standard.

"England has so many advantages on its side. It is on a great time zone, there is no other major cricket being played in the world in July, overseas players love coming to our country and the long summer evenings are perfect for Twenty20."[DOUBLEPOST=1422843454][/DOUBLEPOST]Hope kevin answered the question in the right way

The largest problem we have is the more distributed population and the traditional county structure.
