Online Cricket Games Owned
Sorry if something like this is already in place, but what about a section in the Cricket Chat Forum dedicated to books about the games/players who played it. Especially now there are more and more books about, from players and the likes (Biographies/Autobiographies) yet there is no suitable place to really discuss the content in them, as it doesn't really involve current affairs, but would develop into a much bigger section than lumping it in with the general chat stuff in my view.

I just think it would make sense to have a sub-forum in cricket chat dedicated to the content of these books. It may also give forum users an idea as to whether it's worth purchasing or not.

Just my two cents.

Some one delete the other thread please, the software decided to freeze at the first attempt.

Theres a thread on Cricket Books somewhere around. I don't know if it needs a subforum though.

Exactly, buried in one of the general forums, not the easiest to find and doesn't really encourage the discussion of the books, it's more of a referral thing.

This forum itself is like a book.Open any page of your interest and read it.:p

I actually like the idea of this. The only literature I ever read is sport related and predominately cricket so it would be nice.

I don't really see how books is much of a discussion point that it needs its own forum.

I'm sorry, but I find that comment to be rather rude and I wouldn't expect this sort of dismissive post from a moderator.

It would be more popular than the Cricket jokes/games or whatever it is sub-forum in my view.

By things to discuss in it, I mean topics that arise from the books as well as reviews/recommendations. I mean there are bound to be things that are controversial that come about in some books, so a place to discuss them would be good. Plus there seems to be a vibe around the site about articles, so why not book reviews in that sort of a form? A lot of people on this forum are of a similar age, so knowing their opinion on a book might help the rest of us to decide on what book to read next.

It is an intelligent suggestion. I'll wait about a day or two to give time for more reception from members and then I'll pass it on.

I think that with such clear topics (different books), a subforum could be good. The question is, do enough of the members read cricket books.

Does it need that many members posting all the time to be a success? I'd imagine that there would be a core group who read quite a lot with others ducking in and out if you will, as the tide takes them.

A thread for each book is how I perceived it happening as well.

Let's be honest, if the disaster that is the Member's Article forum is left to keep running then I can't see the books forum doing any harm.

Or as a compromise, how about change the articles forum to the Cricket Literature forum and scrap the idea of a News Team, allowing all members to post articles and reviews on cricket books?

You really are a genius sometimes.
