Giles made England development spin coach...

If a player is not successful then it doesnt mean that he wont be a good coach and vice-versa.Tom Moddy was not the successful player look at his coaching.Infact those players who have struggled in their life turned out to be better coaches than others.

Tom Moody was good player dude. And my question is how many bowls can Giles teach anyone. Ony one.....legstump line routine stuff.

The man dismissed Lara, Tendulkar and Ponting.

Case dismissed.

It's a wise choice. All the England lads are mates with him, he has bucket loads of experience and he's a great character.

Micheal vaughan also dismissed tendulkar and that 2 with a beauty and tendulkar was in 90's then also.
Maybe he should start coaching also.

It'd be a bit hard to captain your country and coach their spin bowlers as well.

Maybe...

Even though he's batsman

They should get other gr8 spinners of past also on board.

Admit it biut he has 307 odi wickets. More than most Englishmen

He's played more than twice our most capped player has.

I don't mind the decision tbh, Giles has international experience, which is so important, something he can give to the upcoming spinners of England. Getting onto the biggest stage is as much about talent as it is about coping with the mental strain of international cricket.

Giles is actually a fantastic coach. Ability as a player and ability as a coach has absolutely no correlation.

Yup, most of the worlds best players never coached, did they?

Richards, Bradman, Botham, Imran, Pollock, etc.

Sachin Tendulkar was coached by a cricket fanatic who besides club games had never played a level above nothing more than saturday club cricket. Point proven.

Tendulkar was never coached in the literal sense of the word.

Imran is regarded highly as a coach and mentor for cricketers, but that is besides the point. I think a great player can make a great coach more easily than a bad player but that either a good or bad player can make a good coach.

Many great players have a profound understanding of the game that they can transmit to their students.

I think manee meant that, he wasn't taught his abilities, ie, natural.
