Mine goes up to 1080I, does this affect the graphics if it's not P?

Not really, as at the end of the day it's still in HD. I did notice something between my 360 which was in 1080I to the PS3 which is in 720 P though.

Ok. Final question, should I put Cross Colour Reduction Filter, RGB Full Range and Super-white on?

Erm... no :P

Try it and see what they do, I have no idea. If something cool happens, keep it. If it blows up, take it back and get a refund, then buy a better one (which is what I did!).

720p and 1080i are much closer in terms of quality than 1080i and 1080p. 1080i is much better for still images and slower paced action, whereas 720p is better for the more fast paced stuff, high action scenes. I prefer using 1080i though, the menu systems dont look as cramped on 1080i, and my 360 didnt look anywhere near as impressive at 720p.

As for the final question, i have all 3 on, and i cant say i notice any change whatsoever, you might aswell have them on, its not going to harm your tv in anyway, i dont think :p

Are the Xbox 360 and PS3 backwards compatible as far as their games are concerned?

Edit: How does PS3 measure up to Nintendo Wii? From what I've seen and heard, the PS3 is a vastly superior machine, but the Wii does at least get you off your butt when playing!!!

Theres not really much point comparing a wii and a ps3. A ps3 is for playing proper games for someone who doesn't have much better to do :p Whilst a wii is much more based around playing it with your mates and just having quick goes not mammoth sessions of hours.

I've noticed offers at GAME for 'Xbox 360 Arcade Console' and it seems much cheaper than standard Xbox 360. What's the difference?

Do you know whether PS3/Xbox 360 are backwards compatible?

So singleplayer Wii isn't much cop then...

It's alright, I don't really get the oppurtunity to have long sessions on it anyway but I'd rather play a long game on a ps3, then again it depends what game your playing and just your opinion.

The PS3 is backwards compatible with the 40/60gb versions, whereas you need the 360 with the Hard-drive for backwards compatibilty.

The arcade console doesnt come with the hard drive, hence the cheapness.

Do you really need the Hard drive for Xbox 360, or can you get by just using a memory card? We're leaning towards Xbox 360 right now, because it's much cheaper than the PS3. How would both of them compare to my PC (see my sig)?

And you can do all the usual extras like play DVDs/music and so on with PS3/Xbox 360?

I would say PS3 ive had both in every way i love the ps3 more. I love the built in wireless i wasnt going to by an add on for my xbox. And i love the games. People may think differently this is just my view.

You can get by with a memory card, but for Xbox Live i'd say a hard drive is pretty important, will allow you to download demos, lots of arcade games, gamer pics, hd movies, trailers etc.

Both consoles allow for dvds and music, but the PS3 is much better for the multimedia entertainment console. The PS3 is almost silent, which makes it ideal for watching dvd's, and putting photos and music on the PS3 takes far less time and is much easier.

If you want an all-round multimedia console, then the PS3 is the one, but if you want a slightly better games library (only cos its been out longer) and a fantastic online service, the 360 will be the one for you. It's your choice mate, i'd definetly reccomend the PS3 though.
