Story Living with India

i agree dropping sourav is a poor decision yuvraj would have been better left out while he finds some form and ganguly should have been left in

As heard in prime time news there was violence in some parts of Kolkatta and effigy's of BCCI being burnt down by angry Dada supporters.

The new coach and selectors have taken huge call by dropping Ganguly and picking Robin Utthappa. Lets see if this moves does not bounce back. Ganguly has very good record playing in England.

When contacted Ganguly said no comments. This will be tough opening series for new coach Lee Payne.

haha.. This(above passage) developes a good story line for Lee.. If the new coach arrives to Kolkatta for any matches in future, I imagine how kind the crowd will be :D

Great start and interesting idea. But i am not happy with Ganguly left out of the squad and JIt won't be happy either :p. What are you going to do with out of form Yuvraj? :p

India begin tour with a comfortable win

Worcestershire v India, 3 day match, New Road

s3.jpg

India have beaten Worcestershire by an innings and 41 runs in their first match on tour in England.

Team

1. V. Sehwag
2. G. Gambhir
3. R. Dravid
4. S. Tendulkar
5. R. Uthappa
6. V. Laxman
7. M. Dhoni (captain, wicket keeper)
8. A. Kumble
9. S. Sreesanth
10. I. Sharma
11. P. Ohja

Batting first, the visitors lost Gautam Gambhir early for 4 runs off 14 balls, but a partnership of 246 between Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid put India on top.

Sehwag was finally out for 142, but fans' favourite Sachin Tendulkar kept the momentum going with 116. Robin Uthappa had only scored 10 when captain Mahendra Dhoni declared.

Rahul Dravid finished with an unbeaten 266, made off 456 balls.

Apart from the odd innings (Ben Smith made 56), Graeme Hick was the only batsman to frustrate the Indians. He made 145 before he was caught by Ishant Sharma off the bowling of stalwart Anil Kumble.

Pragyan Ojha took bowling figures of 3/91 from 23 overs as Worcestershire were 353 all out and asked to follow on.

Second time around, it was more straight forward for India as they skittled the hosts for 163. No batsman passed 50, Kumble taking 4/44.

India won the game in the final session of the final day.

good work so far. will be following this. keep it up. good opening game should give the team some confidence going into the opening test

Good start to the tour for India and good start to the story by yourself Lee. There's nothing wrong with showing Ganguly that he hasn't automatically got a place, however I might be speaking from an England point of view:p. Anyway, great innings from Dravid, must have been a belter of a pitch, over 1000 runs in 3 innings.

I would have played Zaheer instead of Ojha.

Dravid always reveal his top class while playing in England ;) Excellent! And Jumbo made opponents clueless.. fantastic!

Nice win for India there. Innings defeat:eek: Good start for you coach.

It was a good start, but it was only Worcestershire don't forget.

The fact Ganguly was a Lancashire "player" might have something to do with your opinion. ;)

Thanks.

Dominant India take first Test

England v India, 1st Test, Lord's

Marmite man Sreesanth bags a 10fer

story.sreesanth.jpg

India thrashed England by an innings and 268 runs in the first Test to go 1-0 up in the four match series.

Team

1. V. Sehwag
2. W. Jaffer
3. R. Dravid
4. Y. Singh
5. S. Tendulkar
6. V. Laxman
7. M. Dhoni (captain, wicket keeper)
8. A. Kumble
9. S. Sreesanth
10. I. Sharma
11. P. Ojha

It took the tourists just 57 overs to dismiss England. Sreesanth took bowling figures of 5/89 to keep the total down to 196. Chris Read top scored with 47 not out.

India built a massive score of 617/5 before deciding to declare. The innings included 3 centurions and 2 half centurions out of the 6 batsmen that faced a ball.

Wasim Jaffer made just 16 before he was out, but Virender Sehwag's 110, Rahul Dravid's 53, Yuvraj Singh's 51, Sachin Tendulkar's huge 165 and VVS Laxman's even bigger unbeaten 180 put the visitors firmly on top.

Tendulkar and Laxman put on a partnership of 357 in 94.1 overs.

Thanks to another great performance from Sreesanth, England could only manage 153 in their second innings.

The young fast bowler from Kerala took 6/75, to finish with 11/164 in the match. Ishant Sharma helped with 4/78.

India are in good form, with two victories in their first two matches under novice Lee Payne, both by an innings.

Its always India which goes first to take the lead and leave it easy after that? India in SA is one typical example. ;) Lets see.. I believe, with current form, India can win the series. :)

A good match, but what surprises me the most is the number of overs bowled by Sreesanth and Ishant.
29 in the first innings on the trot &
22 in the second.

Man,My Payne,it seems like you'll have to look for other bowlers now.
