Is there anything Jayson Okesene can not do?

In three matches so far, Jayson Okesene has scored 310 runs without being dismissed even once. His knock today was by far his best, as his 133 not out led Hikutavake Hurricanes to another successful run-chase - their third in as many games. Hikutavake Hurricanes have not lost a single match in the tournament, and they are the only team to achieve that feat at the end of the group stage. Dolphins on the other hand, will be rueing the luck of the draw after being grouped with two of the strongest teams in the entire competition. They showed great grit and determination, and potential too, but they came up just a little bit short in two must-win matches.

DOLPHINS 281/6 50.0 overs

Hikutavake Hurricanes won by 4 wickets (with 7 deliveries remaining)

Man of the match: Jayson Okesene (Hikutavake Hurricanes)

Santa Lucia are into the semis!

Adam Khattak played a crucial knock to give Jeddah's score some respectability, but even at most generous, their score could only be described as subpar. Santa Lucia were once again pulled by their bowling, with Maltese nationals Denzilee Selvatico and Kyle Madiona finishing with figures of 4/36 and 3/28, respectively. Santa Lucia's run-chase was unbothered save for a very early jolt from Yahya Farooq, but their middle-order regrouped quickly and soaked in all pressure. Jeddah's bowling failed to look threatening when it was most necessary given the score behind them, leading to Santa Lucia securing a comprehensive 5-wicket win in the first quarter-final.

Code:

SANTA LUCIA 212/5 43.2 overs

Santa Lucia won by 5 wickets (with 40 deliveries remaining)

Man of the match: Denzilee Selvatico (Santa Lucia)

Beijing continue their dream run!

After being forced to bat first, Beijing finished with an impressive 226 on a wicket not too dissimilar to the one in Port Vila where they played all of their group matches in. Southern Coast's bowling didn't really live up to their own standards and were even wayward at times on a wicket that was highly conducive to bowling. Peng Gang played an invaluable knock for Beijing, setting the base for their eventual total without eating up deliveries or going on a blockathon. He struck at a healthy rate despite only clearing the fence four times. His innings really set the tone for the rest of the batters, who tried to emulate his style of play even if they didn't yield as many runs.

Southern Coast were off to a horrid start from the get-go, with arguably their best batter going back to the pavilion on a golden duck. His dismissal was indicative of what was to come as Southern Coast lost wickets regularly before being bowled out for a paltry 151 by a Beijing attack firing on all cylinders. Zi Jia and Shi Gen claimed 4/22 and 3/36 respectively, yet the standout performer for Beijing was still Peng Gang for his stoic innings on a landmine Saratamata wicket.

Code:
BEIJING 226/6 50.0 overs
SOUTHERN COAST 151 39.0 overs

Beijing won by 75 runs

Man of the match: Peng Gang (Beijing)
