T20 World Cup 2024 (West Indies/USA)

Difference between Afghanistan and Bangladesh cricket is, player like Rashid and Nabi help local talent to grow, but Bangladesh cricketers play politics with fellow team mates...

Mate… you have no idea how political Afghani team selections are if you think they don’t indulge in it too. :D

Bangladesh really should have kicked on after their success in the last decade and the turn of it under Mortaza. Instead they’ve completely fumbled the platform he gave them.
All's not well within the Bangla camp it seems. Shakib has come out with statements like they shouldn't have bowled first vs India + seniority doesn't matter in the side. Clearly a case of Chandika micro managing them as usual.

Bangladesh - their attitude sucks the most and I am talking about their players that had success over the recent couple of decades tbh.

Pretty arrogant, cocky and over the top despite the little succes they had they behaved as if they are world beaters in reality just a mere upset in home conditions of Chittagong and Dhaka.

Yeah, it’s clear that Hathurusinghe is an extremely poor fit for them at the moment.

They really should have cleaned the house with Langer or Pandit. They also need some form of domestic structure overhaul to better prepare their younger players for international cricket. They’re still relying on “learning by trade” with extended opportunities like they did with Shakib’s generation back in 2007 and it’s not a good look.

Mortaza did his best to minimise the nastier aspects of it. Mahmudullah seemed like he would have been the right leader to carry on with that but he has been marginalised steadily and has also not been as tactically adept. Doesn’t help that they haven’t had a good coach either like @icyman says.

So... Bangladesh can still go through

Watching the women's ODI and looking at some numbers for England and Jos Buttler's toss decision. It feels like they always field if they win the toss. However..

When he wins the toss and fields first, England's win % is 47.1%
When he wins the toss and bats first their win % is 100% (that's 2 matches v New Zealand and one v India and Pakistan)

Whey he loses the toss and England field first, the win % is even worse 33.3% (only three matches though)
When they lose the toss and bat first the win % is 61.5%

Overall, batting first England have won 70.6% of matches. When chasing it's 45%.

With all that said, if England win the toss today, I expect them to field first.
