Been playing this game for a while and I am tinkering with the gameplay to make playing either test or domestic first class matches a bit more realistic. I also play 90 overs per day and not 100 overs per innings.
OPTIONAL RULES FOR MORE REALISTIC GAMEPLAY
Bowler Rating changes:
Having a bowler bowl too many consecutive overs in a spell will cause them to tire and become less efficient thus lowering their rating. Therefore if bowler bowls more than the following overs in a spell, their ratings drop a level and two levels if not changed a couple of overs after dropping one level.
Pace bowlers:
After 6 consecutive overs, drop one level. After 8 consecutive overs. drop two levels
Medium pace bowlers:
After 8 consecutive overs, drop one level. After 10 consecutive overs. drop two levels
Spin bowlers:
After 12 consecutive overs, drop one level. After 15 consecutive overs. drop two levels
Bowlers must rest for the number of consecutive overs they have bowled to regain full rating.
Weather Conditions:
At the start of each session, throw both 10 sided dice to determine any stoppages in play. (At the start of each days play, after 30 and 60 overs of each days play).
00-90 no interruptions
91-95 bad light interruption - Throw one 10 sided dice to determine how many overs are lost.
96-99 rain interruption - Throw both 10 sided dice to determine how many overs lost. If more than overs left in a day, then play abandoned for the day.
I know it's a tad simplistic but I enjoyed playing the game with these optional rules and I'm sure others can even add more gameplay options and improvements, especially ODI and T20 so please post any of them on the site.
