Tariff Points
Every player who has ever played Test cricket has a "tariff" value:
Based on a player's batting average, for every one full run over 20 they cost one tariff point.- Based on a player's bowling average, for every one run under 50 they cost one tariff point.
- If a player has taken 0.5 wickets per match or fewer, then they will not cost any tariff points.
- The maximum tariff for any player is 50 points. The minimum tariff for any player is 0 points.
