Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

I was all for the game and got it when it was released. The thing that stopped me playing it was firstly - the AI always seemed to hit good balls. Pitch it on off swinging away at 150 clicks and the AI seemed to hardly ever nick or play and miss. This was the most disappointing thing. The...

Patch#2 Notes - Patch is Live

Without going back through the thread, can anyone tell me when Patch 2 will be released on Steam for PC? Or was the PC version already containing Patch 2? Cheers.

Review: First Impressions of DB14 on PC

Not disappointed in the game necessarily, but that the AI batting hasn't been tweaked. I know a simple tweak can change the whole balance of the game though and can put all sorts of things out of whack - very "Chaos Theory"... but still, that's what I was hoping for. ---------- I...

Review: First Impressions of DB14 on PC

Well I bit the bullet and got this on PC as well as having on the 360 and I must say that I have mixed feelings... Love the quality of the graphics and presentation on PC - I don't know where people get the idea that it is "sub-par" graphically, I think it's great. The sound is also much...

Review: First Impressions of DB14 on PC

The one thing that kind of put me off the 360 experience was the lack of edges from AI batsman when you were bowling, and also just the lack of realistic reactions from AI batsman to good bowling in general. Can anyone tell me if this has been addressed for the PC version?

Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

I am getting extremely bored now with career as a fast bowler. The only way to get consistent wickets is if the AI batsman decide to slog and get caught. This happens a lot on t20 but not often in shield games. Edges, lbw, etc. are just too few against good balls. The mechanics for fast...

Don Bradman Cricket 14 General Discussion

WTF was the interviewer thinking!? Playing a game while trying to interview someone and not preparing to have any questions before hand... I got to the "ahhhh... I had a list of questions but can't find them" part which was after about the second question and I just had to switch off. I...

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

They're asking for more edges when you are bowling, not batting! Well from the comments I've seen anyway.

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

Well I can honestly say I find it easier facing guys bowling 130 - 140 km/h in real life than I do in this game. I really think that there needs to be additional forewarning of some kind if we are to play each delivery on its merits. Yes in real life there is a degree of anticipation but this...

The sad thing is that the Wii U has and will have the best games lineup of any next gen consoles for at least the next 1 to 2 years.

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

Agree with the frustration of fielders running toward the ball instead of a line that will cut the ball off. I still think having a small indicator on the pitch where the ball will be bowled just as it leaves the bowlers hand would make batting so much better. The other thing that really makes...

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

I know if you play off the front foot to short bowling and try to drive the ball it normally lobs up to a fielder - which is how it should be. Probably depends on the difficulty you are playing though.

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

Any easy fix for the batting problems some are having in picking up the ball quickly enough would be to have the delivery assistance "circle" appear around the ball just before it leaves the bowlers hand.

Features you want to see in next iteration of Big Ant Cricket

I posted this in the "Patch 2" thread, but is probably more applicable here: A) Batsman AI. Fast bowling just doesn't feel like it's represented well. Sure the gameplay mechanic is good, no problems there. The issue is with how the AI play when you bowl. It doesn't seem to matter how quick you...

    Patch #2 Must Fixes

To be honest, as far as "bugs" go I think the game is good and I'm perfectly happy playing it. However there are two fundamental issues I have with the game that would make experience so much better despite any number of bugs or minor tweaks: A) Batsman AI. Fast bowling just doesn't feel like...

Don Bradman Cricket 14 - Issues and Anomalies after patch 2 [PS3/360]

    Bowling Guide!

I find it amusing that I bowl 152 km/h bouncers at tail enders heads and they smash them away for boundaries. I'm starting to wonder whether the faster you bowl the less likely you are to trouble batsman. Not just with bouncers but with edges, etc.

    Patch General discussion

I'm finding the keeper and bowler still knocking down the stumps a lot with ball in hand while the batsman are well and truly behind the crease. Couldn't remember if this was being addressed or not in P1.

    Patch General discussion

I restarted a career with patch and Dan Christian opens bowling. I figure this could be down to the stats he has? - using get best. Interestingly I got 4/38 in the first innings but wasn't brought onto bowl until the 50th over of the second innings. I'm not raising it as an official issue...
