WCC Nations League (simply and commonly known as the Nations League) is the World Championship of Test cricket.
The tournament is organized by the sport's governing body, World Cricket Conference every two years.
2001 WCC NATIONS LEAGUE
The 2001 WCC Nations League is scheduled to be a 12-team event played across five different countries over the course of two months in January and February.
It will be the second edition of the tournament. Guernsey won the inaugural edition in 1999 by defeating South Africa in the final in Berlin.
Guernsey will defend the title and host the finals of the tournament following the success of their hosting bid at the WCC summit in 2000.
They have retained the number one rank in the WCC Test Team Rankings since the rankings were introduced after the conclusion of the Nations League in 1999.
Since Nations League groups are awarded to the top-four teams in the Test rankings, Guernsey were also awarded the hosting rights for Group A.
Hosting for Group B, Group C and Group D of the Nations League was awarded to New Zealand, South Africa and North Korea respectively.
The top-four teams according to the WCC Test Team Rankings are seeded into separate groups so they do not draw each other until the semi-finals.
